U.S.A. California

I was wondering when LLU will be inviting their applicants for an interview? Anyone who has been accepted, can you let me know the time frame of when the interview is and when you will be accepted for Fall? Thank you!!

@hnbloyj which CC are you applying to?

& LL isn't accepting applicants for Spring??? How did you find out? :( I'm worried now

Im planning to apply most nursing schools in la county such as gcc, elacc, etc. Also, im thinking about victor valley cc but i dont have any information about them.

@Makkara aww!!! I try, I just know how you feel!! Well, I CAN reapply, They told me our applications are good for 2 quarters!

I just dont know =/... I would have to retake like 3 classes I got B's in, and the one C in physics =/, All that work for just them. IDK

I honestly changed my plan. I'm gonna apply to CSUSB and go for a B.S in Health science (Public Health Education) Since I have all the Pre reqs for them done. And then go into a Masters program in Nursing, Like UCLA's or CSUF's... All that would be 4 years. I'll have a Masters, instead of going for a A.D.N program in a c.c thats 2 years, doing a bachelors in nursing another 2 years, then trying to do a masters another 2 years, that route is 6 years =/ I'd be 31 by the time I would be done =/.... Yeah idk about that.

Look into CSUSB again Makkara and re apply!! You never know you just might get in! But if your heart is set on loma then re-apply just do over the teas, and maybe re do a class or two : )

@steph143 i would not recommend to retake all of your prerecs if you are thinking about community colleges. Most of them counts retakes of your pre recs. And i know that llu's nursing department said they don't count retakes so we can retake as many as we want. But every time when i visit to llu, i asked nursing students how they did before llu. Some of them had 1 retake but most of them did not have so many retakes regardless of their GPA. You can try winter or spring. I heard that spring was most least competitive and average GPA is much lower than other semester. I know GPA is important but most community colleges select their nursing student based in chancellor's system which counts your science retake. So if you are thinking about cc's, i think you are not suppose to make retakes any more. I believe even llu would not think making so many retakes is better. Even though my GPA is not that high, i won't make retakes any more and will pay attention on other things such as TEAS and my essay. I talked to one of my friend who is applying medical schools and he said though essay was pretty important, mine was not enough to catch up their mind.

And did you talk to UCLA's nursing department? I dont think their master's program is 2 yr long if you dont have RN license. Actually, i heard that nursing master's program itself takes 2 yrs but if you did not attend in any nursing schools (in other words you dont hold your RN license) you must finish your nursing program first. That's why some of them offer accelerate nursing program before you get started your master's program. I talk to UCLA's nursing councilor when they visit our college while transfer fair. They said you must have your RN license. It doesn't matter if you are adn. If you take their prerecs, they would accept you although you are adn because they will offer rn -master program for you. (It takes 4-5yrs)

@ hnbloyj Thanks for the feed back! I honestly wasn't going to re take anything lol. I have all B's in sciences. Not bad, but not amazing either. Just average =/...I want to keep all possibilities open, So I'm gonna apply to RCC, San Bernardino Valley, Pasadena City College, and maybe a few more. Just in case.

I'm gonna make an appointment with a Nursing adviser at Cal State SanBernardino and see what are my chances of getting in. All I would need for them is another year of foreign language, and just re take the TEAS to better my score.

I'll reapply to Loma Linda again, just maybe I'll get in this time around. But for sure I'm going to apply to Cal State San Bernardino this fall to start health science in the following fall. I just gotta do more research on Graduate schools ,or just go into an accelerated program at that point. But on UCLA's website they do have a MSN program for people whom hold a Bachelors in a different area other than nursing and want to become RN's... I'll check for sure otherwise I'll look into a whole new different school. I just feel with a Bachelor degree you have more open doors of opportunities and could then go into any major at that point, like Occupational Therapist, P.A and so forth. : )

@ Steph, the Fall application for CSUSB just passed... That was my problem. I wanted to reapply but I couldn't ... :(

Yeah I know, I will be applying this october for the following fall... i have it as a back up just in case i dont get into any nursing programs for the spring =//

Hey Steph! So I'm going to apply to RCC but I'm confused.. I applied through CCCapply. I applied for the Fall semester. Is that right? I am used to the quarter system so I am so confused. So for RCC nursing program, your applying for Spring right?

I hope your having an awesome summer!

First of all, you Do need to look up their application because some of CC require their student ID#. Im applying other CCs too but not all of them want me to get the student id first :)

Hey Makkara! Well for Rcc, yes you need to apply right now, so they can generate a school ID number for you, because you will need that i.d number for your school of nursing application. The period to apply for Spring 2014, is thru Sept1-Oct1 2013... so make sure you get everything in by then. I would say make an appointment with the Nursing Coordinator I believe the number is on the link I gave you, so you can sit down and see where you are at with points. Just bring a copy of your transcripts ( unofficials) : )

Thank you this is my last week of summer school, I have all A's so im excited!! Im also going to do a short term cna program just to boost up my chances and points of getting in, since it will give me 5 extra points which i totally need!! lol

@ hnbloyj, yeah some some CC's you need to apply to their school so you can get an id number : )
