Anyone hear about MHCC or Clackamas yet?

Just wondering if anyone has had their interviews or acceptance letters yet?

It does seem impossible to get all of the points! I had 60... and have been scrambling to find some info on the points that were accepted last year. Anyone know?

Thanks everyone. I feel a little bit better. Good luck to you all in getting into CCC! When are you supposed to get their letters? Do you know approximately what numbers the alternates had when they got called up in July?

I don't know how they were ranked. They were fellow classmates last summer. So, I don't know their whole story.

Any word yet from Clackamas??? Any idea when they will send letters out? The waiting is KILLING me! :)

Btw, for those of you that did get interviews at CCC, how many points did you have going in?

At the end of our interview, we were told that it could be the first of next week before we received letters. But....I'm not sure that would be possible since the orientation is next Tuesday. So I'm guessing it's going to be any day.

I had 61 points going into the interview. I've found that 60ish is a pretty popular number with most applicants. Very tight race this one is!!!

I would love to go to CCC because of proximity to my home, but either way I'm starting school in the fall, so I'm over the moon.:)

Orientation next tuesday? I wrote down June 13th, Friday, 1pm to 3pm. For the sake of waiting I hope you're right!

Yep! I sent off my acceptance form today! Nice to see some of my future classmates are on here!

The only thing that might throw a wrench in my plans is if my employer can't move me down to 24/hrs per week. I work full time right now and carry health insurance for both my husband and I (DH is self employed)....but I have hope that it will all work out.

Nice to meet you Spotty44!!! Can't wait to meet you face to face.

Yeah....I'm dreading how to break this to my employer. It is further complicated by the fact that I (we) don't start till Jan 2009....so I really need to continue to work full-time and save money until Christmas at least...but I'm afraid that when he finds out I'm going to leave he'll just start the hiring process right away and I'll end up jobless for a few months.:(. I'm not going to tell him until the last possible minute...but since we have that CNA training around the 4th of July I guess I'll be telling him sooner than later. My husband is also self employed and so I provide the medical benefits and the steady paycheck...you and I are kind of in the same boat. I REALLY wish I started this fall, but Oh well...I'm just so happy to finally KNOW!!!!

You know.... there is a better than excellent chance that it is the 13th. I was thinking it was the 10th. I didn't put anything in writing that day. I had a horrible morning before the interview and arrived in a bit of a frenzy. So, yeah, maybe that's why they told us letters could be the first of next week.

Just like everyone else, the sooner the better, 'cause I need to be letting my employer know!!!

I think you are only required to give 2 weeks notice. If you have concerns about keeping your job or how your employer will react I would keep quiet until just before school. I gave my employer 4 weeks and offered to help train the new person when I'm not in class. For me it was important to work all the way to the start of class.

I started the process for nursing school with pre requisites in fall of '06. I could have told my employer then but I didn't. Not that it is their business what you do outside of work but I felt keeping it to myself let me focus on work when I was in the office. If you can take personal leave for the CNA training I'd do that. We looked at insurance after I resign and it way more expensive when the company isn't footing the bill. Another reason to work up to the start of school. I also liked being in control of when I left by position - not being dictated by my boss.

I've had a great experience this route. So many people have told me congrats and that I will make a great nurse.

Ugh..that's exactly why I have to manage to maintain 24/hrs per week throughout the entire program. I looked at private insurance and it's like $400/month. :banghead:

Oh well, I'll have to make it work.

I got my letter from MHCC today too and got on the alternate list. WAY down the list though so I am not very hopeful at all. Crossing my fingers for OHSU now...

I don't have to worry about being on MHCC's alternate list anymore...just got my acceptance letter from OHSU! Yay!!!!!

Congrats icbinb !!!!!! I'm still waiting for a letter from Chemeketa. I already got letters from Clackamas and PCC and no luck there...
