I'm just curious! I'm just starting (at the ripe 'ol age of 35, LOL!) looking into a career in nursing. I've worked in hospitals and clinics doing medical transcription for years and years, and way back when used to be a pre-physical therapy major (I've taken chemistry, anatomy, biology...don't know if they would count, as it's been several years). I would be attending MJC for pre-reqs and (fiingers crossed) the nursing program eventually and I would really love to have a student's view, how difficult it is to get into the program, any general advice, etc.
Hi everyone,
Ive been reading these posts to answer some of my questions for the past month, so thank you all for the helpful information! I am a pre-nursing student and finished up my pre-reqs last semester just in time to apply to the nursing program at MJC. Anxious to hear about acceptance but def. not getting my hopes up due to the amount of 5th and 6th time applicants. Anyways good luck to all and congrats to those of you who get in!
3rd semester is hard. I guess all the semesters are hard, but 3rd is especially so. I don't think most of the students "dropped out" per se, as in just quit. They "dropped out" when they didn't receive a passing grade. It's especially hard on people with family and work commitments who don't have the adequate study time. The college has a remediation process in which the students can re-enter the program, though.
I tried to reply to the message you sent me but I cant figure it out? I got into fall 2011. I live in valley springs so its like a 50 min drive. Are you in the program?
Hey everyone! I'm new here :). I have read all your posts and I am glad to know that I am not the only one waiting on the letter for MJC. Its taken so long, I wish they would hurry up already! Good luck to all. This is my first time applying. I am also applying to Delta this month. Hopefully letters are here tomorrow so I can stop stalking the mail lady, lol.
