Anyone going to Jefferson Davis this year JDCC?

Published

I am starting in AUgust at Jefferson Davis Community College. ANyone else?

Well, I'm not starting in Aug. I applied and was on the "alternate" list, but didn't get in. I'm hoping to get in for January. I just finished up Microbiology and will be able to add 30 points, so I'll be at 169, so I'm hoping that will be enough to make it in this time. Are you in Pensacola? I live in Pensacola so I will have to commute. It's worth it though because I've heard some great things about JD. I wish there were more people on here who would reply about this school. I've been trying to get responses for ever now, but no luck. Well good luck with school! I bet you are getting excited!

I didnt think anyone read this post. Yes I live in Pensacola. I AM excited about school starting. I got in with 169 I think the nursing dept said that was the high avarage for getting in.

Seems like some threads get a lot of attantion about their school but I think they are in big cities. Good luck with January. I will give you some time to knock out the other classes (co Reqs)

I already have all the coreqs done except speech which I will take online this semester at JD. I also ordered a Medical Terminology Made Incredibly Easy book and I'm going to get the dosage calcs book too. I just want to get a good base on those before the program starts. Good luck with everything. I can't wait to hear feedback about the program after you start!

Hi Sniper,

I too am hoping for admission in January but I think I only have 151 points. I'm just now finishing up Micro and Psych at PJC, we'll see. How are you doing with the drive and how many days a week do you have class? Thanks so much!!

Hey all - I applied to the nursing college for January and have 147 points...we'll see. I have to take psychology II, microbiology and anatomy II next semester and I will be finished with my pre-req's. I am taking these pre-req's at JD as well.

Anybody have any advice on who to take for A&P II or microbiology?

Sniper1 -- glad to have met you and can't wait to hear your "stories" on how the program is for you!

Honeybee737 -- I am going M,W, F and my drive fluctuates. If I understand something I strive for an "A" on the test and study hard BUT with this last test in A&P on cellular respiration I was so lost that I noticed it definitely put a damper on my drive. I am sure I failed it. She drops the lowest test grade though so I am not too worried about it. iTunes has an "iTunes University" that has some good lectures about most any subject for free. I uploaded several on cell biology and chemistry to try and get a better grasp on that stuff so I won't struggle when I hit it again in the future. I don't like not understanding something...that is how I learn best --- to understand and relate and picture.

Glad to have met you all... :yeah:

So people are making it in if they are in the 160's?

also... does jd require pda's..do they order them and then bill you or do u get your own?
