  1. I love iTunes University at the iTunes store. You can type in any subject and listen to lectures on what you need to know. The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  2. Good luck babe48076!!! I am watching for your posts to see what's going on...I am set to start nursing school in August. The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  3. Tabacque -- you know how you said you have gone back and forth -- I was back and now I am forth :) ...I start this semester Tuesday -- my determination disappeared over the holidays and I got lazy! I am still scared and not totally certain because of not knowing all the answers (which scares me) BUT I am signed up and ready to go. I don't want to regret that I didn't do this when I had an opportunity to. I have micro and A&P II and PSY210 this semester. Those are my last 3 pre-req's. If I make A's in micro and A&P I will surely get in with a point total of 188. You guys keep in touch and let me know how you're doing. The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  4. Hi to everyone who has been so supportive during my time of trying to get into nursing school. I have an update -- I have truly been studying myself and what I can handle and what makes me happy. Unfortunately, I haven't been at peace with my decision to be a nurse even though I LOVE the medical field and love to help others...I don't do well with stress. I thrive on the peaceful feeling that I get when all is done, organized, caught up, etc. I am naturally an organized person and put 110% effort into everything that I do. I was trying to get over the stress that comes with nursing and tell myself that I could handle it and overcome it. That may be so but I have decided I am not willing to take that chance. I will not be returning to JD next semester and am searching for a job at a hospital instead (office/administration). I have previous experience in that field and was always good at it. So...good luck to you all! The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  5. Thanks sniper -- will do!
  6. After a period of disappointment I have rejuvenated my determination and let it go. I am finishing out this semester with all A's. I am proud of the fact that I am exempt from the final in A&P since I already have an A! I am taking Micro and A&P II in Spring. If I make A's in those classes I will have 188 points to get into the nursing college next Fall. Are you guys still hanging in there? What did you decide and where are you going? The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  7. I have all but three of my pre-req's finished and I am currently in A&P I which has been the most challenging class of my life! I have doubted myself many times. I remind myself of this often... The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe Good luck today! Let us know how it was :loveya:
  8. My score was 147. My eyes are still swollen... I only know one person that got in and she had a 180. Long day - I'm going to bed...sleep well. Tomorrow will be better. The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  9. I did not get in -- I also did not realize that the next admission wasn't until August of 2010. Not happy right now...
  10. I talked to the nursing college at Jeff Davis this afternoon...the letters were mailed out yesterday so we should know something by the end of the week. :) I'll post when I get mine! Good luck guys! The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  11. My A&P teacher was using a CD in class to illustrate muscle contraction and the sliding filament theory. I found the same exact info on this website. It helped me a lot to be able to "see" the movements, etc. http://nedbook.adam.com/pages/IPWeb/home/index2.html I don't see how you guys have tests on multiple chapters in A&P and can handle it. My teacher goes into such great detail and makes us learn so much from each chapter that I am spending approx. 12-15 hours of studying for each test and the last one on muscles I studied for about 20 hours. I am expecting a "C" on that test even though my average in that class is currently an "A". It was SOOOOO difficult!!! A lot of the students in our class are mad that she is making it more detailed than it "should be"...don't know how they came up with that "should be" level of difficulty...I just look at it like this...she is breaking me in early for nursing school since it will, no doubt, be very challenging and only the dedicated succeed! The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  12. hmmmmmm.....can't wait! The higher the goal, the harder the climb -- the sweeter the success! :redbeathe

  14. I expect to hear from JD around the first week of November...you guys will be the first to know (other than my family) :) The higher the goal, the harder the climb - the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
  15. Hi - I can completely relate to your post...I am 34 and returned to college to be a nurse. I chose nursing because I have experience in the medical field (office & administration) and was always interested in that field and considered myself a quick learner. With that said, during the first three months of school I've had several "breakdowns" where I was wondering the exact same things that you are. My mom has been a nurse for over 30 years and I asked her if she "knew" she wanted to be a nurse before going to school. I somehow felt that I should just "know" that was my calling. She said no and that she had never thought of being a nurse until I was born and she was single and had to find a relatively quick way to make a living for us. I asked her how she felt about it after she finished and went to work and she said she's loved it ever since and there is never a day when she doesn't feel a satisfaction that she has helped someone feel better. She is an AWESOME nurse! I know she is only one person but I gained real peace with her answers and haven't had a breakdown since. I expect to get overwhelmed & stressed but this is our life and our decision and we will regret it if we don't carry through! You can do it! Mind over matter, dedication and A LOT of studying! The higher the goal, the harder the climb == the sweeter the success! :redbeathe
