Hey everyone,
I'm still fairly new to this site. I haven't posted much, since I just joined, but I've been reading lots and lots - even before I joined.
I just wondered, are any of you getting ready to apply for Fall 2009? I'm working on finishing up my first degree, and planning to apply to an accelerated program to get my BSN in two years.
I'm volunteering at a local hospital, reading books (have any of you read Tilda Shalof's Story of a Nurse? It's really good!), and getting some early studying in for the Anatomy and Physiology class that I need to do next semester as a pre-requisite. I need to apply this winter, but I'm just trying to get an early start on things, especially in the summer, while I'm not at school (working, though).
For those of you that are getting ready to apply, what are you doing to get ready?
I just thought we could support each other while we're working out way through the application process!
Hi ,
I am applying this year. I applied last year to two schools. One I didn't get in because my a and p was over five years old. So I have retaken it. I am applying to two schools because they are both within driving distance. I am hoping to make it in this year. I have gotten an associates which gives me a few extra points. Plus I have a better grade for a and p.. I do wish they were all the same prereq's , but they seem to be different everywhere. I have a good chance this time I believe.
Hi I just joined allnurses.com today! I live in Northern Indiana and I am in the process of applying to St. Elizabeth School of Nursing for Fall 2009. Is anyone out there also applying to St. E for next fall? It is an accelerated program since I already have a Bachelor's degree (Accounting).
I'm really excited to get started and finish in 23 months!
Your GPA is very competitive for the BSN program and based on your volunteer experiences, I would doubt very much that you wouldn't offered admission. If you are waiting on Hopkins to give you notice and they are your first choice, perhaps you can ask to change your application to Early Decision and be notified in mid-December. That would definitely lessen your wait time if you feel confident that you'd attend if you were accepted.
I asked the staff if I could change my application status to ED and they said yes! Thanks for the suggestion. Now I don't have to wait two and a half weeks compared to 3 months. Wish me luck :)
Hi! I'm new here also, I've been looking around on this site for a while and I've already applied to the nursing program (it was actually a change of curriculum) and all I need to do is take the NET unfortunately the woman I spoke with in our nursing department said that it takes about 2 weeks for the results (the test is done on comp. so I don't understand why) and I will have one chance left to take it as long as I find out my results in time
and then we don't find out until FEBRUARY if we got accepted into the program or not, so the wait will be awful!
I'm already a business administration major (once I'm all done I will be receiving 2 degrees) so I've already taken almost all of the general courses needed and in spring semester (2009) I will be taking A&P 1 and developmental psych, so that I can get ahead and my counselor said it looks better if you have all the general classes before you start the program mhm.
What does everyone need on the NET to pass? I know at my school we need at least a 65 in each of the parts to be considered passing.
By the way I'm going to the community college so I will be getting an associates :]
Good luck to everyone !
