I think you can do just fine. I am graduating this June at 54. I have always wanted to be a nurse and breast cancer came along and made me see if I was going to do it I should just do it. If you only have 8 prereqs you are doing great. Good luck and go after your dreams. Having a supportive husband will help more than you know. I am lucky mine is very supportive.

Thanks for encouraging all of us... I am close to that I am 52 and starting the nursing program in September.. So I will be 54 when I graduate.. It is good to know there are others out there who are willing to go for their dreams...

Hi Amy, I just got accepted into the nursing program and I am older than you. I know a woman who was my age when she started nursing school and she is doing fine. I started my dream out of high school and then did the mom thing for 35 years so now it is my turn. I believe I will be a great nurse. Go for it.

Hi , I am applying this year. I applied last year to two schools. One I didn't get in because my a and p was over five years old. So I have retaken it. I am applying to two schools because they are both within driving distance. I am hoping to make it in this year. I have gotten an associates which gives me a few extra points. Plus I have a better grade for a and p.. I do wish they were all the same prereq's , but they seem to be different everywhere. I have a good chance this time I believe.

Hey guys, come on .. I really thought one or two of you would have time to answer these simple questions..

I am taking my prereq's for nursing and my nursing stratagies class has to interview current students. These are the questions I am supposed to ask.1) How has being in nursing school different than what you expected? 2) What is the most challenging aspect of being a nursing student for you? 3) What is the best part about being a nursing student for you? 4) What advice would you give to pre-nursing students about what to do before entering nursing program?
