Hi, just wondering what their program is like and how you liked it. I plan on taking their next entrance exam and applying for their Sept. 09 class.
Thanks!
I was looking to going to CSCC also. In fact I have done all my classes there thus far. I moved to Brunswick with the boyfriend plus I wanted to get in a program sooner then 2011. I'm no spring chicken anymore and I feel like I need to get on with it. LOL
I love Columbus and don't want to leave plus I have a great job here that will pay for nursing school. Well I don't want to leave until I graduate! I'm lucky in that I have a job waiting for me when I graduate. My aunt runs a cardiac ICU in newport beach, ca so she can get me a job out there when I graduate. I got into Tri-C early this year to start January 2011 but I got my seat taken away due to a change in their policy (I moved and updated my address but the nursing department sent it to my old address so I never found out until it was too late) so for me, it is Tri-C or nothing!
Hi there - For those of you worried about the expense of school, just try to look at it this way. Do you think, in your lifetime, that you would purchase a car from anywhere between $18,000 to $25,000? A car loan is 5-7 years, with hefty payments. A student loan, through the government, is not a hefty payment, in comparison to your RN income, and there is flexibility in paying on those loans.
There are many loan forgiveness programs, areas that are underserved, many "out of the box" nursing opportunities out there, with even more to come in the future. It is one of the few areas that employment will be increasing, not decreasing.
I am in the Akron area, and had such a gloomy outlook about finding a job. But during the whole school process, ideas come to mind, clinicals take place, networks are being built. For me, I prayed, worked hard, and did the best I could. Passed that NCLEX and had the possibility of three options. I'm not saying any of this to brag, but rather encourage all of you! This world needs kind-hearted, caring, devoted/dedicated nurses. I am just sure all of you have that quality in you and can perservere!
Go for it, you can do it!!

Definitely!! Worst case scenario, you can always look at applying elsewhere. Schools are just so hard to get into right now. I wish people would hurry up and realize that there is not a nursing shortage and there are tons of unemployed new grads so only those who truly having a passion for nursing apply! :) I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a March 2011 start date at Columbus State. I picked them because they have electives in acute care, NICU, and trauma and your final quarter prectorship can be done at a Level I Trauma center and my goal is to be a flight nurse down the road so it fits with my career goals. At this point, just be glad you get to go to nursing school!!
