I just accepted a position as a contract RN with Rx Crossroads to do home teaching of self-injection for specific meds. It's only meant as a supplementary income, not full-time work, and I have to file my own taxes. But it sounds fairly simple, and it's for the city I currently live in. So I just wanted to see if anyone knows anything about them. I've investigated their website and know that they're based in KY. Hopefully there won't be any horror stories forthcoming... Thanks all!
Thanks for the heads up. Yes, MI is huge (my FIL lives there) and that's alot of an area to cover. I hope they make things right for you and you have another source fo income to carry you through. Yes, will proceed with caution and you can always PM me when you have 15 posts. Take care and best of luck to you.
Find Jobs - Contract Nurse Jobs in Augusta, Maine - RxCrossroads
Here's the link for the site on Careerbuilder.com. You can check out the site to see if they are hiring nurses in your area and what the qualifications are. This is the link to the first one that popped up on my screen when I was trying to get you the link. Obviously, other states have openenings as well.
Yes, pay begins at $175 per visit and goes up depending on distance traveled and pharmacy program you are working with for them. It is a contract position and per diem so your paycheck depends on how many cases there are in your area, how many pt's. need training and how many perscriptions are written, etc.
Judging by other's posts and my personal experience this is a nice side job but I wouldn't count on it for full time work. Most of the pharmaceutical companies that Rx Crossroads serves have their own nurses that provide the trainings to pt's. in the field. One poster mentioned they were slow to pay her.
Best of luck and if you need any other information, we're all here to help.
Yeah, I haven't even gotten one referral as of yet, so I wouldn't put all of my eggs in this tipsy basket if I were you. It's not hard to get signed up, and you don't have to invest much time to be prepared, so it won't hurt to try it out, though. Maybe things would be better in your neck of the woods, but it seems to me that since we're technically just "back-up nurses" for the company's "real educators" there won't ever be many actual opportunities in this position. But, as I said, it definitely doesn't hurt to put your name in the hat just in case.
I just recently signed on to do the training sessions with them as well. I am so glad for all these wonderful posts on allnurses. I just got finished with the norditropin training on Friday and the rebif training about a week ago. I did not get any referrals as of yet. I did receive a large amount of supplies to ensure that I am ready when (and if) they do ever call me. Has anyone gotten any referrals so far? I think the company just did a massive, nation-wide hiring event because they were looking for contract nurses in most states. Perhaps some of us will be working here or there for them. Just wanted to inquire as to whether anyone else on the boards are working for this company and what your experience has been. Thanks.
Hi: I first signed up with them in May;they were quick to get back to me and do a telephone interview, but since then, I've kind of had to chase them. They said they would send the contracts, but didn't, so I had to call and email;then, I got an email asking if I'm still interested since they, "hadn't heard from" me. Finally got the contacts, sent them back, heard nothing. I called and emailed;got the Rebif training kit and promise of the Norditropin kit. Got nothing. I called and emailed;weeks later, I got set up for the online test;took it, passed;heard nothing. I called and emailed. I got a second Rebif kit. Weeks later, got an email about the Norditropin training, which they said would take 20-30 mins. Took an hour and a half by web-seminar;they also went over payroll deadlines and said they pay twice monthly. I asked about the Norditropin kit;they said to email them, so I did. That was last week and I haven't heard back nor rec'd anything. Oh, well. I'm ready to go with the Rebif training if they ever call! Good luck!
thanks, HawaiianRN, for the information. I am sorry to hear of what you experienced. I also did not readily hear back from them either. I was encouraged to contact my case manager at the respective phone numbers located at the end of each contract. I guess you are right in saying that at least you are ready to do the training if they should call you for Rebif. Good luck with any referrals you may get.
i signed up for crossroads and had an offer for a facility in Minneapolis. Next thing you know the recruiter left me a message furniture was being delivered the the apartment. I was like whoa!! wHAT apt? I had not accepted at that point. Come to find out the apt they wanted to put me up in was about 20 miles away. Finally I sent a very nice letter stating I was not comfortable with the current arrangements and may I would check with them later.
I received a foul reply that said I would never work for crossroads or that facility. It went on and on and was very unprofessional. Two weeks later I had another offer from the same facility with a different travel company.
I know people who traveled with crossroads and liked them and others who didn't. It is a crap shoot either way.

I am in Michigan (big state) and I was willing to cover a large area, so that's probably why I got the referrals. I will keep you guys posted but wanted you all to proceed with caution so you don't find yourself standing in my shoes. Good luck!
