Well, I finally was able to get everything in order to apply to nursing school. I've been going part time doing a class or two at a time for so long that it seemed this time would never get here! lol In some ways, it's been good that it's taken longer due to family concerns, money, health problems my son has been having, etc. I took the NET this past Friday and was sick as a dog (high fever, massive headache) when I did so I hope I did well enough. It was the last time the NET was being given before the deadline, so I had to go. My GPA is good, so I'm hoping even if I didn't do as well as I would normally that it will balance with my NET score.
The deadline for Winter 2008 (January 2008 start) is September 1. The nursing department says we'll know whether we're accepted or not by mid-October. I'm nervous! I know this is what I want to do and I've been working toward it since 2005, right after my son was released from the NICU. If I'm not accepted, then I know I'll apply again, but it will still be very disappointing.
Anyone else waiting for "the" letter? Care to wait with me? :)

First off, Congrats to those who have gotten their letters!!! :balloons: How exciting!
Ok, so I posted a few weeks ago. I had gotten an 85% on my previous NLN pre-entrance exam (that I took in June) and decided I was going to take it one more time before the cut-off to try to improve my score (85% is usually right around the cutoff, but could be higher or lower - too risky).
Well, I took the test on August 28 and then left for vacation on the 1st...so I had to wait until the 8th to get my results.
Well, I went from an 85% (composite score of 124) to a 92% (composite score of 133)!!!! So, I have improved my chances of being accepted dramatically!!! Our cut-off date for applying was September 5.
I will be waiting until November to find out, but if I am looking at the cut-off scores from previous semesters, I'm pretty sure I'm in. I am very excited and anxious to get that letter!!! Of course I am still nervous that I won't get in, but I know deep down that I am in. If not, major disappointment will set in for sure...much more than before!
I only applied to one school as well as it is my only option - I have to go at night.
Who else has a couple of months to wait??? I am telling myself...stay busy, just keep yourself occupied!! Not hard to do with a 2 year old!! But it'll still take forever for November to get here!!!
