Is there anyone else out there who is currently studying for the CCRN exam and would like to start a thread as perhaps a study and support group? I have just applied for the exam and have not yet set a date, but about in 3 months is when I will be taking it. I would love to be in communication with others in the same boat! I hope there is at least one other nurse out there! Thanks!

Yeah, Linda Gasparis Vonfrolios' book was $19.11 on Amazon.com, that's where I got mine. I love it, and have gotten through all the cardiac questions now!
Studying is going pretty good, not much done this weekend since I've been working nights and all I do when I work nights is work and sleep
I'm gonna try for beginning of September...I should just schedule the darn test and then I'll have a set date!! AND I need to get my membership at AACN since now they have free CEU's available! Are you all members?
OK, I just set my date.......July 25!Yeah, I am on night shift too. That is why I am just taking vacation to do nothing besides study. And for the Las Vegas trip I am leaving tomorrow for
Have a great time in Las Vegas!! Have you been there before? (I've never been there) How long will you be there? Do you see shows? Do a few slots!!!
:biere::cheers::typing Have fun! Keep in touch!!!
Hey I have a question... how are you all going about mastering this material? Are you concentrating on one area until you have a mastery and then moving on or are you going through everything and then back through it more slowly. I've pretty much done the latter, but am not sure it is the best way.

Hey my CCRN-to-be buddies,
THanks for the Las Vegas wishes. Yeah, I have been there a bunch of times - too much, LOL. I have seen a Cirque show........normally don't go to much shows. This trip we have tickets to the Summer League NBA so will spend one day just watching basketball. Then it is back to hot casino action.
How I have been studying, and my peers at work.....is mostly doing the Pass CCRN questions. To keep up my attention span, I pick the option of mixing up the questions from all categories and make it a 20 question test. I study the rationale for each question - even if I get it right. I plan to spend A LOT of computer time on these questions after Vegas! Unless I win Megabucks and can quit working!
I am new to this site. I am currently studying for the CCRN, I find it very hard, I will be attending the review class by Ms. Laura Gasparios at the end of the month, July 30th and 31st in Augusta. I have not decided yet as to when I will actually take the test. Its pretty powerful!!!
I have been working for the past 9 years in the ER. To tell you the truth I am not even sure as to how to go about registering for the test. So I need some of you out there to help me out. I do most of my studying at night, when the ER is quiet. I have a lot of material,
sometimes its so overwhelming, One thing is for sure, I will continue studying and will take the test.
Any help would be appreciated.

YYYAAAAAAYYYYYY .....and then there was 7!!! Welcome to our little cadre of fellow nurses gearing up for the CCRN. We all love Laura Gaspari's material and I personally am VERY jealous that you will get to see her in person. All you have to do to register is to go on the AACN website and they will walk you through all the instructions. It takes a few weeks to get a return email and postcard which then gives you about a 3 month time frame to register to take the test. I will send you a personal message about some tips I have received of things to memorize for the test. I am so glad you are on board with us. I have just gotten home from a long night, so I will write more when I am awake and more coherent. I'm sure you'll hear more from the rest of the gang by then as well.

the seven of us after we pass the CCRN!!!!

I'm not sure....but I think I read in the application thing that ER bedside time did not count as critical care time? I think cath lab falls under that same thing, because it's not ICU
Or not?
If thats the case I'm going to start spending more time in ER (my first love)
