Is there anyone else out there who is currently studying for the CCRN exam and would like to start a thread as perhaps a study and support group? I have just applied for the exam and have not yet set a date, but about in 3 months is when I will be taking it. I would love to be in communication with others in the same boat! I hope there is at least one other nurse out there! Thanks!

Congratulations CVICURN2003! :balloons:

I haven't started studying at all yet. My wedding is consuming all of my extra energy. I plan to start studying after it is over.

74% on my latest Dennison test- HOWEVER when I was going through the problems I noticed that a the test selected the wrong answer on a couple questions as the right one - the rationals/strategies did not jibe at all with what it was saying was the correct answer.

General example:

on a question regarding a patient with no R pupil response (dilated), the "correct answer" was IV nerve (an oculomotor nerve innervating a muscle), but the rational talked about the 3rd nerve as the correct one, since III constricts pupils.

Just an FYI so you guys keep on your toes when reviewing rationals

Hey Burnt,

You are right about the Dennison questions - I found about 3 questions like that in total.

Fascinating about the perms and epidurals! I had a cervical epidural yesterday - too bad I don't have a perm and we could test that statement

I noticed there were some "wrong" answers too! And I have my lovely badge with CCRN on it!!!!

UMMM-I do know that a perm does not take during pregancy. I had one at about 5 weeks (did not know I was pregnant) and my hair was FLAT for 6 more months. He was 6 weeks early...

The fun part is reading "What to Expect when your expecting" FOUR THOUSAND TIMES.:lol2::lol2: And trying to figure out the baby names and the baby name books. ;);)

Try to pretend that you forgot all of your OB rotation, a little knowledge can be very dangerous...and make you REALLY paranoid, take it from me, I was the expert in pregnancy paranoia. Ofcourse all I remembered was the bad stuff of the OB rotation (I don't do lady parts's...I work on your heart:uhoh3:). SO do you mind sharing the big date? If you have I'm sorry I missed it (CCRN hell...)

OK. You have got to be kidding" How is that even possible? Now really, how can fentanyl and bupivicaine travel down the hair shaft and relax a perm? OMG that is too freaky!! What I don't learn from my CCRN buddies!!

I love fall colors so that's why I picked October. And the weather is awesome!

Everything is coming together, but I'm starting to get scared that something will go wrong.

We're going to St. Lucia. I can't wait! Let's just pray that there aren't any hurricanes while we're there.
