Anyone else still waiting on Acceptance/Rejections to FNP?

Published

Sigh...I feel like I've been waiting forever on word, even though it's really not been all that LONG...I'm on wait week 4.5 for University of Cincinnati, and week number 3 for Simmons College. Both are for FNP programs...I was denied from Georgetown after 2.5 wks of waiting...sigh...so who else is waiting, no matter what school you applied to?

Thanks so much! I still can't believe this is really happening!

The hand of God has been upon me this morning. At 8.55am, I received an email from Georgetown. I have been accepted. I will not take this opportunity for granted. I want to make a difference in my community. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting.

CONGRATS!

Congrats Tasha, I've been following your posts. I've been thinking about Simmons FNP. Can you pm when you can.

I applied to both Simmons and Georgetown last week. Still nervously waiting to hear from both schools. I applied for the full time September 2014 FNP program. I have a 3.82 GPA total with 2 years experience as an ICU RN. Your acceptance stories make me hopeful! How did you hear from the programs? Email or personal phone call? Is it different for acceptance versus non-acceptance?

I received an e-mail from George with denial and a Call from Simmons Witt news if acceptance

Hi Blueyedmommy,

I found out about Georgetown decision through an email. Myaccess at georgetown never updated and still hasn't updated to date. It remained the same from from day one without a decision part. I think they are having technical difficulties with myaccess. They told me on Friday they are working on it so that I can be able to pay the deposit.

Your GPA is pretty good. I hope you will get in. I admire the fact that you are able to apply so early. I rushed to beat the november application deadline by a week for a Jan 2014 start.

Your GPA looks fantastic, so you have a great shot at Georgetown. I applied there first, but was not accepted. They suggested Simmons to me, and I was accepted there. I'm actually thankful to have gotten Simmons anyway, as they are roughly 35K cheaper than GU, and use the same online technology platform for classes (run by the same company etc) so it's still the 18mo full time program, and all the benefits of GU, without the "brand name" LOL. I"m pleased with my choice. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get some acceptance news soon!

How long from the time you applied until you heard back? Both schools told me 4-6 weeks but I am wondering what the actual timeline has been. It's driving me crazy not knowing! I am one week so far for Georgetown and two from Simmons. I am not sure what I will do if I get into both, I haven't allowed myself to be that positive. I am just hoping for one acceptance, they both seem to be great programs. Congrats to both of you on your acceptance!

I had to be proactive in getting my applications in. I have three small children and am getting married in June so I have a lot of planning to do for once I, hopefully, start :)
