Anyone else going to the USAGPAN in 2011?

Hello all, I am new to this forum but find it to be quite useful so far. I have a question....I have just recently applied to the Army's CRNA program for the calss starting in 2011. I was accepted by the LTHET board but I have yet to hear from NEU yet. When do you generally hear from them on your acceptance? Also, is there anyone else out there that applied to the same class starting in 2011 at Ft. Sam?

Holly, I was told by a person in charge at the VA, that the selection board meets near the end of September. Arrghh, the suspense is killing me.

Hi again, The suspense is killing me too! I almost, almost backed out of applying to the final LTHET, (I suppose a serious case of cold feet due to 'anticipatory marriage to the program!' ;)!) Thankfully that only lasted about a day and a half. My packet is in and just waiting for this board....Jen

Hi, I am also a VA employee applying to USAGPAN. I was just wondering if any of you VA employees have heard anything yet? I have my acceptance from NEU and was told I should know something from the VA by mid-September...still waiting....what about you?

Also still waiting to hear - I thought for sure we would have heard something by now because I was also told mid-september. And now we are almost in to October! Hopefully any day now...!

Hi there, I understood that the packets had to be in by the deadline of Sep 15th but that the board was meeting at the end of the month. If it helps to know that the initial board packet application deadline was March 30th but they didn't meet until May. This board is much quicker, deadline to apply only two weeks before the board. Likely it will be a few days afterwards to get the word out. Good luck!! Jen

Yeah, I applied too. It's October and I still haven't heard anything form the VA selection panel. I am going to University of Tennessee Health Science Center's DNP-CRNA program, already been accepted there. The VA is taking to long!

Hello Destined for Greatness, Does the VA pay your way for the USAGPAN or do you have to pay on your own? When I got accepted for my RN program initially it was first a junior college that accepted me first and I went to their orientation. Shortly after that the MS in nursing entry at DePaul University picked me up and I relinquished me seat at the junior college. That wasn't the same as this but, similar in that the safety of being "picked up" by one program takes the pressure off while waiting for the other. I'm still waiting too, no word yet for USAGPAN. Crawfor! UPS?? Oh, I am sorry for that. :( Just yesterday afternoon I called the education officer of HRC and he told me the board had only met this week and they were not done yet. I guess they are whittling. Shoot, if I was you, I'd call up and petition it, not taking a rejection laying down? At least find out what they didn't like in your application. You just never know, it might nudge them at the best and at the least you'll know what to buffer up for next time! Jen p.s. I'll be watching for any UPS trucks myself...

Well I never received the package from UPS (must have got lost) but did just get a phone call and was informed I have been chosen as the 2nd alternate for the VA selection...kinda bitter sweet feelings I guess. Glad I'm still sort of in the running, but now I wonder how long it will be until I know for sure if the candidates already chosen will fully commit or not? Hmmm....I guess I'm still waiting....

Good question. Why isn't the US Government using the US Postal Service? Congrats to those who were accepted! No such luck for me, but hey that's how life goes. You have to make it through the rainy days to appreciate the sunshine right.

Hello fellow USAGPAN applicants. I just found out Sunday morning that the supplemental board results for active duty military was posted on the website. Although last week when I called HRC, (human resources in FT Knox) I was told I would receive a phone call and then a letter and should know by that week. I received neither yet, I found out that my name WAS thankfully on the list by checking yesterday at work. Good luck to everyone still waiting. I'm not sure why such the long wait for us to find out but, hang in there!!! Jen
