I recently submitted my application to UAB FNP program starting May 2015. Just wondering if anyone else has applied as well?? If so, from which state do you live? I am from NE Florida. I hope to meet/network with other prospective students for this program. Though I'm excited it's an online program, I think I will miss the peer to peer banter! Fingers crossed on acceptance!
They just started accepting applications for the Summer 2015 program track. I do not anticipate hearing from them until late March early April. They told me once they process my application for the BSN-DNP they would either throw out my MSN application or review for admission. If I get accepted into the BSN-DNP track, then she said they would dismiss my MSN application. I expect to hear from them about the DNP application by late March mid April as well. Long wait!! If I got accepted to UAB, I would wait until the very last moment to enroll. I would rather get into the BSN-DNP track at USA, but I would not give up a guaranteed opportunity at UAB. It is one of the best programs in the nation.
Which program are you hoping to get into? Do you prefer UAB or USA?

In a way, I hope I get into the BSN-DNP program at USA. This is only due to the fact that the program incorporates the doctorate. However, I would gladly attend UAB as they are ranked in the top 5% of nursing programs nationwide. I am sure the curriculum is difficult at both institutions. Either way, I would receive my MSN as a FNP. The USA program does give the MSN degree along the way.
Hi everyone! I applied to the Primary care Gero/Women's Health back in August. Been waiting a long time for the deadline to pass. Currently taking classes as a graduate non-degree seeking nursing student at UAB. I took 606 this Spring and taking 604 now and hope to take Pharm Spring 2015. I love UAB! If I'm accepted this would be my 3rd go round with the university. I received my BS in Respiratory Therapy and BSN from UAB. Staff is awesome and always looking out for the student best interest. Currently live in Atlanta but hoping to move back to Bham the first of the year. I'm already in the system and nothing has changed which it is to be expected. I do have a non-degree and background/drugscreen hold on my account but I assume that's because I'm up for renewal and taking classes.

I applied to the same program! I hope we all get in! I'm anxiously waiting for December!
haleyx91, I work as a liaison for Brooks Rehab hospital and I do home health. I am very familiar with Wolfson's. My friends say it's an awesome place to work. If you can't get on there, try UF health. Regarding statistics, I am assuming that because it reflects a UAB equivalent course, it should transfer. I agree, it's rather unclear. Private message me when you get settled in Jax. The Florida RNs may just be UAB bound!

@canwil2082 I have decided to apply to USA BSN-DNP also, they have you apply thought NursingCAS. Do you know why, even after you submit all previous transcripts, that you have to enter in each course you've taken? That's ridiculous to me! Lol

It was a very difficult process dealing with the Nursing CAS application. It really only benefits USA because they do not have to deal with all the transcripts and calculating GPAs. I requested two official copies of my transcripts. I had one sent to the Nursing CAS and the other to me. I entered it exactly as it was on my transcript. They verified the coursework against my entries and calculated my official GPA. It took about 3 or 4 weeks for my application to be completely "verified". The supplemental application for the BSN-DNP program was very easy to complete.
