Anyone have to drop A & P?

I have to drop A/P and start with general bio. I thought if I studied real hard it would be fine but it's been really hard for me. I graduated high school over 10 yrs ago and really do not remember a lot of science at all. I really shold have been more preapared..like knowing a decent amount of general bio etc...

Anyway..it's a bummer because it's to late to add a bio. But at least next time I take A & P I'll feel up to speed.

I'm sorry!! It was required that we take a General Bio class before we could take A&P and Micro. We didn't have a choice. I think it did help me because the beginning of both Micro & A&P were recaps of what I had learned in Bio!

My school does not require students to take general biology before A&P.

I took A&P I with A&P II in the same semester, because I thought I'd be saving some time. Since I found that A&P II was the easier of the two classes, I eventually dropped A&P I.

Yup, I was registered for A&P I and microbiology and 3 days before classes started I was informed by letter that I had to take bio 101 before A&P and bio 103 before micro. I was sooo upset because I have to have A&P I&II before next fall. Micro and Human Growth I can take later in the summer when and if I get into nursing school. So, I know how you feel. I'm pushing it because I will have to take A&P I in the spring and A&P II next summer, which will be rough. If I don't then I will have to wait another year before I can get in.

Thanks to all who responded. I wish this school would have made gen bio as a pre req. I just was not prepared at all. It's been so long since I've done any science that I had to go back and review basic cell structure! Def stuff you should know before A&P!

I'm sorry that you had a hard time with A&P. I've been out of school for quite a while too, but I was lucky that I was able to remember much of my high school biology classes after reading the book a bit. Hopefully once you get into you Bio class you'll begin to remember some things, and you'll get an easy A! Good Luck!

Our school does not require gen bio for a pre req to get into A&P either, but luckily one of the counslers recomended that I take it and boy I am glad I did. I took it last fall and have A&P now, and I can understand what my prof is saying.
