Yes, all the recommended books are required. That being said, I started the program in Jan '07 so there may be different books/editions. What I would do, is buy all the books, then don't open them until the first day of class. On the first day, you will get a syllabus and book list. Open books as needed, and if there are books that you don't or won't use, sell them back to the bookstore.

Also, RELAX!!!!!!!! The first semester may make you feel anxious and stressed and you feel overwhelmed but trust me, in the next year you will feel like you know what you're doing and that nursing is definitely for you!

Hey GUYS,

Sorry My computer freaked out and that was all I was able to send!

But I wanted to let you guys know, if you don't have insurance, there is this place across the street from Halifax Hospital those does physicals for $40.00. They also do the urine and blood test for a bit more.

If you are interested I can send you the number.

Thank so much. We are all going crazy here just thinking about everything. We have orientation on Monday, which seems like it took forever to get here.

It must be so exciting to be almost done! I can't wait!

Do you recommend a certain brand of scrubs (are your white)and do the shoes have to be ALL white?

I bet you wish you never posted now, :D

ONe last question, what hospitals does the program do clinicals in?

Specializes in Operating Room.

aw, i'm not wishing i'd never posted.. i wish i had someone to answer questions for me when I started! i didn't know anybody in the program!

yes your scrubs and shoes have to be all white. i used the landau brand of scrubs. in OB, peds, and psych you can wear colors! yayy..

and i've done clinicals at Halifax and Florida Hospital Ormond. Also Florida Hospital Flagler. But it depends on your clinical teacher where you go.

Let me know of anymore questions and I will answer if I can. Let me know what teachers you guys get and I'll give you the scoop.

scraig, did you take ob, peds, and or psych during the summer?

One last super long question,

When you go to orientation, what is the setup? How do they register you, change your major, and assign you to a campus.

It is crazy that i have no idea were I am going. Is it hard to get the Daytona campus?
