Head down to Big Lots or similar and check out the Halloween decorations. I got a little 24" or so skeleton model with most of the major landmarks on it for less than $10 . I added some stuff with a marker. It worked great, was cheap, and portable. Finished with an A and I put him out for Halloween every year.
I actually considered it, but a lot of them were really expensive. I didn't have time to go to open labs much at all and I still managed to make an A in both labs. Here's what I did- I made it ONE day to open lab for first semester, then I took pictures of the models and if there were any lists of what each thing was I took a picture of that. The second semester I couldn't get to open lab for that one day, so I just took pictures of the models during class when we were going over things.
One of the greatest things that I learned to do in A & P was use either a camera (best quality) or your camera phone and take pictures of all the models. I spent a great deal of time in lab, as I was an older returning student, and I wanted to be able to look at actual models AT HOME rather than our text books.
Problem solved- very cheaply. Download to your computer and print off if you like. Best thing I ever... did in A & P.
Thanks for all your replies. I have taken my camera in to take photos of our models. Some of them are missing their keys, though. What a pain! I really want to have models of the bones so I can feel all the bumps, and touch where the insertion/origin points are. However, buying a disarticulated skeleton is even more expensive than buying a model! I'm going to hold off for a bit. Thanks for your replies!

Hey there!
I'm currently in A&P 1 and (hopefully) will finish all three sections this year. I am getting an A, but barely. I work, have young kids yadda yadda yadda, so I'm not able to make it to open labs very often. (There is one directly after my lab and I always stay- giving me an average of 4 hours in the lab each week.) I feel like I might do better if I had my own skeleton. I have found a couple on the web that aren't horrendously expensive, and have a fair amount of detail (according to other buyers)
Has anyone gone this route? Suggestions?
Thanks!
