How is Mildred Elley's LPN Program? Is it well organized?

One of our admissions representatives would be happy to answer your specific questions. You can reach them at (212) 380-9004.

What I do not agree with is after a person who has study for six months they and passed the classes they are still not guranteed a spot into the Nursing program. What happens to the people who already have a Medical Assitance certificate? They take a $20,000 course AGAIN?!? Plus that is a REQUIREMENT of the school that a student who is interested into the LPN program HAVE to intially sign-up into the Medical Assitance program, which is totally confusing to me.

Exactly. Keep us posted on what you decide and any other info that you come across and Ill do the same. Good luck and hopefully we will find the right fit in the right program.

@bohill I'm not going to attend because I'm not signing anything that states that I have to enter into a Medical Assisting program. If I'm guranteed a spot into the LPN program after successfully passing my classes. I deserve a position in the program. They also have other reqiurments to enter the program, which are BUT NOT LIMITED to writing an essay and I believe receiving approval from the board. I do not mind paying $30,000 either. However I do have a problem being on a "waiting list" paying $30,000 dollars. I could continue at Cuny and pay $2000 for that. And like I stated before if you call any other program in NJ(Hohokus, Allied Nursing School & Lincoln Technical), they do not have this procedure. Plus their tution is about $5,000 cheaper. I'm just going to head back to NJ and play it safe. Also I do not know if you heard of Manhattan Institute (28th Steet in NY) but they have a Pratical Nursing program awaiting accreditdation right now. They want to start their first session in Sept 2011. Check out their Facebook page for more information, good luck:)

I tried to find it on facebook but I didn't see it. Aren't all new programs going to be unorganized? I hate being the test dummy but I am hating the community college I go to. I just want to be in a nursing program soon before I lose my motivation. This process is so discouraging. I would like some more info on Manhattan institute though.

I just called Manhattan Institute and they said to call back in about a month for the LPN program.

@bohill, [color=#0e774a]www.facebook.com/manhattaninstitute?sk=app_7146470109 is the link to manhattan institute page. don't get discourage. if you do not mind me asking where are you from? if you are located in the city and drive there are programs in nj that are only an hour away. i also heard there will be other lpn programs starting in ny soon. just do your research. i'm big on questions, i ask too many. always asked question about any school you are interested in. new schools are usually unorganized. mildred elley program is new too. i just wish they did not have that policy because i loved the atmosphere, it is clean, new state of the art equipment. however i'm uncomfortable with the admissions requirements. but where one door closes another one opens.

@msb6 Thank you so much for your time. I am doing so much research my head hurts. That's why I'm so disappointed in this program. I thought this was the one. You are right. I have until July to decide.

NJ is not an option for me although I wish I could.

Lets see what other doors open up. Gotta be patient to make smart moves.

Medical assisting is not high in demand Faith and you know it. The market is saturated with MAs. Contrary to popular beleif, not all healthcare fields are in demand. Many of them are saturated.

That is so true Donald11. A lot of ppl have to realize that Admissions Representatives are like sales representatives! They tell you everything you wanna hear so that you sign on the dotted line. When it come down to it don't get stuck with loans in a recession. Majority of LPN's are getting lower wages. Medical Assistings are getting lower than that. Don't sign up for a certificate which would only get u $12-$15 an hour.

Hey I was wondering what school did you decide to go to I was set to attend Mildred Elley in July but I am a MA and it didnt sit well with me that I had to take all the those classes over and not have a spot in the lpn when I am done so I decided no on that and visited allied in New jersey and really liked it and the fact that they have a bride program something else Midred Elley doesnt have

nobody is hiring MA's these days. i was plannin on attending this school but i changed my mind.

Tuition is high, it's about $40k and 16 months. It isn't bad but it wasn't the best either. It was a typical business, they take your money and try to give you less than you pay for but just keep in mind, it's all on you, they give the tools and the books and it is a lot of self learning but they are actually getting better clinical sites in more hospitals and after a lot of craziness seems to have finally gotten their act together as far as the program goes. Anyone that goes now will probably have a better experience than my class did since we started with the school and they are more experienced now. Good Luck
