Anyone attending Mildred Elley in N.Y.C?

How is Mildred Elley's LPN Program? Is it well organized?

So you completed the program how was it after the six months of pre-req what did you have to do to actually enter the lpn program was it easy did you have wait or did you go straight in. Would you recommend the school I wanted to go to new jersey but I cant so looking into mildred elley or bronx community. Thanks for any info:D

I would recommend the school because financial aid and student loans cover everything. I have friends that go to school in NJ and their biggest complaint is the cost. While the program may only be 11k it doesn't include text books, ATI, your medical bag and supplies, uniforms, etc. Once I started the nursing classes I found it easier because those pre req's are basically used over and over again so once you have that knowledge you will be fine. Anatomy, medical terms and pharmacology are all going to be used throughout the program. It was easier for me to get an A in LPN classes than it was in Bio.

I was in the first batch to go to the school so we went straight into the LPN program but we had to maintain a B+ or higher to stay in. I would recommend Mildred Elley for someone who has a family already and needs to make a salary quickly then return for the RN but if you are not in a rush I would recommend just doing the RN program straight.

Well thank you for the info :) but I here its much harder to progress to the lpn and the six months what test do they give you after that six months to get into lpn part. some of the newer students say dont come here they tell all kinds of lies and you have to wait to get in the program so you know its just confusing and discouraging to be honest I would love to go to one of the schools in jersey its straight forward to the point but family things prevent that so i have to find a school in New York its not many and they are not making it easy at all:confused:

i have never heard of this school before.this is the first time i am hearing about this school. however, i read from ny state nclex report that only 4 students took nclex.i go to center for allied health in new jersey and they don't have a waitlist for clinicals. i finished first three months and i am starting my 2nd rotation tommorrow.i am studying really hard. tuition is 21,450 which is litttle expensive but includes book and uniform. however, i want to suggest try out boces program in elmsford, new york or boces in york town and boces in rockland because tuition is 13,000 or cuny LPN programs before you go do 30,000. 30,000 dollars is too much for an lpn program because it is not an associate rn. try out all other options before you sign your dotted line on loan paper. cuny, suny and boces.

I went to visit allied and I liked it very much the problem for me is the commute I have children and the commute is too much for me but I have heard that a hospital in brooklyn will be offering lpn early 2012 so hopefully it will work out. If not Bronx cc lpn here I come. Thanks for the info:)

thank u . bcc is hard and crazy.

go ahead and make sure you study very well. it is lot of intense if you are doing day but if you have determination you can acheive it.

wish you all the best

wish you all the best

I wish you well. What do you mean bcc is hard do you mean hard to get in or the program, do you know anyone who went to bcc? any info would be awesome :)

Recently graduated from the program and passed the boards. Before hand I didn't think that they prepared us for the NCLEX but after taking it, I realized that I didn't need to wait 2 months to study to take it, I could have gone the following week and passed. If you pass nursing school, you are prepared for the boards. My class had a lot of cheaters that I'm sure don't feel the same, but if you can pass all your classes on your own without cheating then you are prepared. Best of luck to anyone who decides to go here because I do believe that the staff and program and even clinical sites are much better than they were for my class.

CONGRATULATIONS....and thank you for the info

the NY State website for the Office of Professions shows that only 4 people from Mildred Elley took the NCLEX in 2009.

Hi, you guys are scaring me with all your comments. im going to the info session in NYC campus now that i'm reading your comments you all are scaring me.

are you all saying that because of the experiences u had?

because everyone has different view points on different schools?

all of this was in 2009..what about in 2014? what is the pass rate? where do u check to see the pass rate to the school?

please someone reply!

this is really important to me.

thanks for your time!
