I am in southeast Georgia about an hour and a half north of Jax FL. I am under the old curriculum and working on Foundations of Professional Practice (NC7).

I'm in Geogira around Atlanta area. Actually I am going to apply to excelsior college based on 50% clinical completed. I am not able to apply online because it says Georgia residents can not apply for the excelsior college nursing program. But when I called the excelsior they told me that I can apply and enroll in the nursing program while I am in Gerogia and I can take the NCLEX on another state. So did you enroll in july 2008, if not when did you enroll. How far are your from graduating? Excelsior told me that according to GBON, a student have to be LPN, paramedics and military in order to sit for NCLEX in georgia. I am still going to apply if they let me and I will take the NCLEX on another state. Please help me if you have any info.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Dialysis, LTAC, Hospice, SCI.

I am also in Georgia, just received my CPNE date for July at Grady Hospital, however, since I don't feel fully prepared yet, I probably won't accept it.

Wishing you future CPNEer's the best my turn will be here before I know it.

Wish you good luck on you CPNE at Grady. My husband works at Grady. Do let me know how your CPNE goes at grady because if I get accepted in Excelsior I would probabaly do my CPNE at grady.

I am right outside of Chattanooga Tn, about 1 1/2 hours from Atl. I am currently working on Lifespan 3/NC6.

Simley2030 I also know about the Ga license thing but I think it is waived for the students that are already enrolled???!!! But I work in Chatt Tn so if not I can just get my Tn license and be fine. I would check into it deeply, bc it is not cheap and I would hate for someone to go through all of this and not get licensed.

FeFe23.. How long did it take to get your date? Let me know how it goes at Grady, not to make you nervous but I have heard they are hard. Just wondering if the rumors are true, bc they are the closest to me.

Jlrevis, I submitted my CPNE application on Jan. 21, so it took 4 months to get a date... (not too shabby for SPAC), I think Grady has eased up a little with the hard reputation! I Have a few friends that just tested there a few months ago, they recommend that I know my critical elements and stay cool. If they did it... then I can too!!!

I'll let you and Smiley2030 know how it turns out.

Hi, I am doing Excelsior from gerogia but I will take the exam in TN because I am planning to move to nearest state where excelsior graduates are accepted. So, there is no problem with Excelsior in TN? and you stay closer to TN and will be driving to work in TN? I am also applying to Excelsior based on 50% clinical. I have done 2 years of BSN but I could not graduated due to not passing a course on the last semester of the program. I was told 4 days before graduation that I could not graduate. So are you and LPN and doing LPN - ASN at EC? Also, do you know who you preceptor is at grady. Is your preceptor will be from EC or someone from grady? How long it took you to finish your EC exams?
