Anyone Applying to Spring 2014 Texas Tech 2nd Degree BSN

U.S.A. Texas

Anyone applying to Texas Tech's program, specifically the 2nd degree Austin program? What is your work experience? What prereqs have you taken/still need? Volunteering? GPA? Heard anything interesting lately about the program? Let's get to chatting!

Flyonn - I agree with kaseyroo. If you have work/volunteer travel experience, that's great! But your personal travels matter too. If you didn't include those in the application, you should have a chance to bring it up in an interview.

I have been so busy with school, work, and getting everything done for my application. I took my TEAS and made a 93.3%. I'm now a certified phlebotomy tech and pharmacy tech. I've been drawing labs on my floor for practice. My GPA is only 3.3 without nutrition, patho, and lifespan. I have A's in them, but they won't be on my transcript. I don't have as many volunteer hours as I'd like to, but I guess we'll see what happens.

Hi ya'll! Anyone applying to TTU-El Paso? If you did, did you receive an invitation for an interview??

I applied and got an interview invitation. I heard from another person that there were so few applicants that everyone who applied got an interview. But I'm not sure whether or not that's true.. Did you get invited for an interview? I'm so nervous about it, especially the essay portion.

Hi! I did as well! I'm so excited! So our interview is most definitely what decides our admission. What day did you schedule your interview?

I scheduled it on Monday. You? Do you have any idea what our essay is going to be on? Or how many applicants applied? Congrats on the invite and good luck on your interview!

Congratulations! You said you guys applied for the El Paso cohort? Let us know how the interviews go!

So I scheduled my interview on Tuesday for the El Paso cohort. The email said that we will be interviewed by 3-5 people for like 15mins then we will be asked to submit a short written response to a prompt of the "Admissions Committee's choosing" and we will have 25 mins to complete it. Eek! at being asked questions by a group of people :s

For TTU-Austin, the advisor said that invitations for interviews will probably be sent out by email towards the end of the second week in October and that denials should be sent out around that same time, but they usually wait a little on those if someone declines the interview.

I've no idea what our essay will be on >

Thank you! Good luck on your interview!!!

@jennytmuw

If you get accepted to both.. which will you choose?? This is so nerve wrecking!

Does anyone know how many applied to either El Paso or Austin?

El Paso applicants that's so exciting! Good luck on y'all's interviews :).

Aqua I didn't really study much for my TEAS. I looked over the ATI practice book but my job this summer was extremely time consuming (saving for nursing school!) so I didn't have much time to study. I didn't know we were allowed to take the TEAS twice in one application period so I was extremely nervous. I think that works to my advantage most of the time. I work really well under pressure.

Applications close tomorrow night guys! I'm so excited/nervous to hear back! I keep checking Merlin hoping something will be there.. Even when I know it won't. Good luck everyone! It's all in God's hands now. Take a deep breath and relax for a little while..

Good luck everyone!!!
