Anyone Applying to Samuel Merritt ABSN April, May, June 2009?

Is anyone else applying to ABSN at Merritt for Spring 2009. Let's post our experience the next 6 months here. I'm just getting started on my application due nov 1. Good luck. :up:

I received an acceptance phone call from the Sacramento coordinator... The admissions packet hasn't arrived yet. :)

Hi! whoa congrat!!! u must be so happy. I didn't know they actually call you. Where are u from? I'm just curious if they call people that are geographically closer first. I'm too nervous. Could I ask you what is your statistic regarding gpa, etc.

thanks for responding. I applied to San Mateo as my first choice and Sac as my second choice for the ABSN program for spring 2009. I received an email last week sayin that people would get letters early this week regarding san mateo. They didn't mention anything about Sac. So I'm sorta curious as to why they didn't do so. Tomorrow if I don't get anything in the letter....does it mean I'm rejected???:cry:

Thanks! I don't know if they normally call (I'd recently dropped off a set of transcripts for completed summer classes). I'm from Sacramento. I think my science GPA was around 3.6-3.7 (undergrad GPA of about 3.5), my NET composite was 90 and I've been an EMT for little over 3 years. Good luck getting in!

Hello everyone! I'm also applying to the ABSN program for spring admission. Like StarBelly, I'm struggling with personal statement since I don't have any experience working in the healthcare industry. I hope that doesn't disqualify me from the program. This many seem like a silly question but when they say "1-2 pages" for the writing sample, they mean single-spaced, right?

Does anyone know how heavily they consider NET scores in comparison to GPA? I scored pretty high on the NET but my undergrad GPA leaves a lot to be desired...:cry: Do they evaluate your most recent 60 semester/90 quarter units (including prereqs) or rather, of your undergraduate studies?

Mochi, they look at your most recent 60su/90qu so don't worry. at least that's what the advisor told me. for the writing sample, i'd recommend double space...makes it easier to read.

so, did you hear from them? did you get into the san mateo campus? i hope so! i always thought they wouldn't respond until after the app deadline...hmmm. i still have my app sitting here and am also apply for san mateo's.

Hi there,

I got waitlisted number 3 for San Mateo:(. I'm feeling defeated. I know that that position isn't that bad...but another problem has arise that is unexpected and it will probably disqualify me. I am done taking pathophysiology (I fork over a grand for this course) and now I'm in the beginning of pharmacology. I was told that they can't mail my Test early enough for me to meet my Dec. 1 deadline. Even with express overnight, they won't garantee they could deliever my tests in time. University of Indiana is soooo freakin slow. I feel soooo defeated.

Don't feel defeated. I have already received a rejection letter from their ELMSN program and since I haven't heard anything about the ABSN program I got another rejection or I am so far down on the waitlist they might as well just reject me. I am still moving forward I have planthis is just a speed bump, but eventually we will all get over it.
