Anyone applying for the PHCC Spring 2013 RN/LPN program

U.S.A. Florida

Just wanting to connect & be/get encouragement from other hopefuls who are applying to the program. Anyway, who's up for stalking the mailman with me?

Hey guys. Does anyone know how many days a week and what the hours are for the RN program? I thought the advisor mentioned that it's 4 days a wk from 7-3 but recently, I heard its 3 days. Also, any idea how soon clinicals start? I'm just curious. I want to know as much as possible. I also need a distraction since I really want to get accepted into the rn program.

Also I think the clinical part, the hands on stuff, might be difficult if you are not in that field already. If your a cna or you work at the hospital now in some capacity that might make it alot easier for you. The rest of us will feel like a fish out of water at first.

@RxDreams-I heard its 4 days a week 7-3 like you did.

don't know when the clinicals start.

@Roseyfaulkinghamburger- Your teas score for the lpn program is 100% of your ranking. The teas score for the RN program is 50% of your ranking, 45% is your pre-req gpa and 5% you get if you are from pasco or hernando.

But for me personally, I think the hardest part of the nursing program will be waiting for my acceptance letter.

Agreed. I was prepping for the Spc RN program until discovered I couldn't get in no matter how qualified living in pasco county. Lots of prerequisites for that program so fortunately I've completed all of the corequisites.

I know a couple people who got into the fall program & this is what one of them told me was the current schedule

"We go on Tuesdays from 9-2:30 and then on Thursday and Friday is clinical days. That can be 8-4 or 7-4 depending. Sometimes we get out earlier though."

I heard that schedule too from a counselor as well.

No mail Monday and nothing from PHCC today, ugh!

No letter here either. The wait is killing me.

I wish phcc would recognize how difficult waiting is for us & give us the exact day letters will be sent. It's not that I dont believe what everyone is posting...I'm just not sure that the administrators giving info are all on the same page. Its a lot harder for me to expect the letter by a certain day and then not receive it.

My mail came at 3:22 this afternoon- why do I know the exact time? I just happened to be standing at the mailbox.

Letters are sent out!! I got mine today at 10:06!!! I actually called out of work this morning because I had a feeling :) good luck to everyone!
