@jen-g-don't worry those are solid scores..they didnt handle the sending out the letters very good with all the misinformation. The lady whose name is on all the letters says we have to have them by Monday.

I got my letter guys, if u haven't gotten yours they said you will get it by Monday

But for me personally, I think the hardest part of the nursing program will be waiting for my acceptance letter.

@Roseyfaulkinghamburger- Your teas score for the lpn program is 100% of your ranking. The teas score for the RN program is 50% of your ranking, 45% is your pre-req gpa and 5% you get if you are from pasco or hernando.

@RxDreams-I heard its 4 days a week 7-3 like you did. don't know when the clinicals start.

Also I think the clinical part, the hands on stuff, might be difficult if you are not in that field already. If your a cna or you work at the hospital now in some capacity that might make it alot easier for you. The rest of us will feel like a fish out of water at first.

I think the RN program will be a little harder if you don't get the general education classes out of the way so that you can focus on the nursing classes each semester. Microbiology and its co-requisite lab, A&P 2 and its co-requisite lab, Lifespan and development etc. We will have two summer semesters during the 2 year program were we can't take any nursing classes, they don't have nursing classes in the summer, so if you don't have the general education classes out of the way, or some of them, you should make sure you take them these during those summer intervals. Last year when I took A&P I, my teacher told us that half the RN class failed that go around. 24 people out of 48 dropped out or failed. I think this is an indication of its level of difficulty and also I think that it is an indication that it may not be as hard to get into as we think. 150 applicants and 48 seats means you only need to be in the top 30% of the applicants to get in.

I just called west campus admissions and they said the letters will go out middle or end of this week.

A little about me, Im 58 years old, single hispanic male, black hair ,brown eyes, 6'2", I like long walks on the beach, fine dinning, I play ping pong, soccer,baseball. A good personality, a little on the heavy side but i'm working on that. I also like crossword puzzles, I like to crochet; I'm looking for s/w/f someone between 19-45, I prefer blondes. Height weight proportionate. I prefer someone who likes dogs and doesn't smoke. Thank you.

by the way jazacmom said when she got her acceptance letter it was two pages, the letter and acceptance form. So if you are like me it will be comforting to know If i got in or not before I open the letter. So an acceptance letter will weigh about 13grams and a denial letter should way 9 grams, because its just one page. This way if you have a scale like me when you get the letter you can weigh your letter and know before you open it. I guess that sounds a little crazy. Its nice I could use the scale for something besides that yayo

Has anyone signed up for NCH0050 bls yet? You might as well get registered for a class sometime after mid October , the fee won't be due till the day of. And if you don't get in you can drop it before you have to pay. just think, when everyone one who gets an acceptance letter this go around for all the health programs, lpn, rn ,etc; they will be rushing to sign up for basic life support, you could miss the section you want and have to go on a day that is inconv. for you.

I wonder if any of the 150 applicants this go around got a denial letter yet? How long does it take to stuff 150 letters, the committee already met and has chosen the people to go into the programs, that much they can tell you.

Update on the letters. I always try to call and talk to as many different people I can , in order to piece together any information I can ,as to when the letters are coming out of if I got accepted or not. Originally I called the person who is responsible for sending out the letters and she told me they would be sent out the first week of October, because they committee already met at the time she told me this. She also mentioned that she was new to sending out the letters, I guess someone else did it last go around. I talked to someone else today who told me the one who is responsible for the letters won't send them out until she completes a few tasks for the people who have been accepted. I can only speculate what those things are. Maybe the packets that we receive once we accept the seat, the ones that tell us what we need to do, such as background check, shots etc. This could also mean she has to change our major so that we are able to sign up for nursing courses going forward. I once asked the person in charge of sending out the acceptance letters if we would notice our major changed( in wise) before the letters are sent out and she said that might not happen simultaneously. Anyway I now think the person I originally talked to, who said the letters would go out last Friday, maybe didn't realize how much work was involved before sending out the letters and overestimated the speed at which she could complete the task. Also, she hasn't answered the phone, so she is probably very busy. They supposedly send all acceptance and denial letters out together.

No...but seriously I actually thought about becoming a doctor but in the end it wasn't for me. Nursing is a better fit because it allows me to work in several different areas of medicine. Plus, I can focus 100% on patient care , as oppose to being a doctor where you have to deal with all the bureaucracy. And I look good in scrubs too.
