Anyone applying to MJC or San Joaquin Delta College?

Published

I'm applying to MJC and Delta for Fall '10. Just wondering if anyone else out there is also applying? :)

lol! Seriously!

I did calculate my scores tonight...I have a 72.5. Crazy, all my hard work and all I get is a 72?

Don't worry, something I noticed about the scoring with grades is that if you have a 4.0 you have 40 points for it, but there are only 3 classes they use to avg out science gpa for the points, so if u have A's in A&P but let's say a B in micro, it averages to 3.71 and you get 34 points for it. So if you don't have all A's, there's no way you can get over a 34 in that criteria, so I don't get why they even bother having that 35-39 point range for science GPA's nobody can have, know what I mean?

True. I did get A's in all my sciences, but I do have a B in English that I took years ago (before grades mattered). :) Oh well...

Which version of the TEAS did you take?

Best of luck to you..

btw, did you receive a confirmation email or anything after you applied? I didn't get anything in my delta email either. Just makes me more antsy if I messed up or anything on the app.

Browneyedgirl10 - I took 4.0

thinameister - No, I didn't receive anything. Funny, I've been a little antsy too...

I got in Spring 2010...so hopefully I'll see you two at orientation when we welcome the new students!

Stucky621 - Congratulations! So how is the workload? How are the teachers? Did you get in with work experience, good grades, etc.?

Just an update, I got an email with my app attached confirming that they got it and telling me what I need to have if they ask for supporting documents. My app ID was 133 so I'm guessing that I was the 133rd person who submitted an app (this is only a guess). I applied on the 9th I think.

Also, they said they would be sending out acceptance emails the week of the 19th, so I guess I'll post again here then!

Thanks for the heads up, thinameister. I checked my mail and received the same email. I think you're right about the #, mine is 10 and I applied on the 7th around 8:30 in the morning. Glad to hear that we find out around the 19th! Let me know what you hear...

i just posted another thread asking if anyone applied to delta :) i just applied yesterday, i'm #266. i just figured my score is 68 and i have no idea where that stands~lol. i have a's in all my pre-reqs except micro, which is a b. i scored an 88.2% on my teas and i have work experience as a medical assistant, which only gave me an extra 2 points ;) supposedly, we should hear something next week. if they ask for documents, does that mean we have a spot as long as everything proves to be correct?

Good luck Soon2be! I think they will ask for documents from accepted and alternate students but I'm sure they will tell you if you are an alternate.
