Anyone applying to MJC or San Joaquin Delta College?

Published

I'm applying to MJC and Delta for Fall '10. Just wondering if anyone else out there is also applying? :)

Those who got accepted to delta what were your final points total? I was just curious as to what the cuts were like? Thanks and happy nursing ladies!

Cobee-What did you try to register for? Classes @ Delta? I don't think you can register for them quite yet. Not sure.

CaRN-My final score was in the 70's I believe, not sure to be honest. BUT I had a 4.0 in pre-reqs and english, I scored a 76.5 on the TEAS, and was first generation to attend college. I didn't get points in any other area. I think my grades are the only thing that got me in. I was really nervous though with my low TEAS score. I had to take it the first year they implemented it and had virtually no study time. I have volunteer experience and a phlebotomy license, but NOT ENOUGH HOURS IN EITHER which meant I couldn't use them : (

Hope this helps. Did you find out if you are in yet?

CaRN: I got a point total of 78.

dpeterson: my registration date was around a month ago. I tried to register just a few hours ago and there was no add section in the online registration form, so I looked at the registration calendar and it said that registration closed yesterday at 4 PM. I know they'll probably do something so we'll get to register but I was really hoping to register today so I would get the clinical site of choice. Too bad all this didn't come two days ago haha

dpeterson: Thanks for the info! I just checked Delta's website and its a bit conflicting on the criteria page it says they take the FIRST score in section 5 but on the FAQ for admission it does say that they will take the best out of the 3 highest scores. I shot them over an email... I am waiting to here from MJC in July other wise I will be crossing my fingers around Christmas time like you ladies have been the last 2 months!

cobee: Thanks for the score info!

Congrats to you Both!

Woo Hoo....Thanks for the update!:yeah: I was actually scheduled to take it this last time to apply for fall entrance but I chickened out that morning! I really want the best score that I can get and I was only shooting about 82% on the online practice test Ati has so I knew that If I didn't get a high enough score there would have been no reason to apply. I hate this juggling game! Good luck I hope they gave you the green light today!

I scored an 82.4 on my TEAS, and I too thought that my score wasnt going to be high enough either. Shoot for as high as you can, but even if you arent happy with your score still apply because I thought I wasnt going to get in either with an 82% :)

I had A's in all of my sciences and a B in english. I scored a ...87.6%, I think (gosh, I can't even remember), on the teas exam. I also qualified for a fee waiver and that's it. I don't remember my final score though.

Specializes in Perinatal.

i had a b in micro and an a in everything else. i scored an 88.2% on my teas and i had prior work experience as a medical assistant.

CaRn-The info posted now is for next semester for spring 2011, it has changed a bit. They are going to allow you to take the TEAS up to 3x's for next semester...

Cobee-I see what you are saying about registering. Thats strange, there is no "add" box to put the codes into. Hmmm wonder how we are going to register? I guess we'll find out!

Hi Ladies

I called the Nursing office and they informed me that we would be able to register on July 12.

Awesome! Thanks jbow1121! That's why I love this website! Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed????

YES!!! There is so much to do and this whole background check process and uploading of records is making me dizzy lol :)
