  1. Hmmm that sounds unfamiliar to me. I'd call the nursing office and see what they say.
  2. Hi DD2010, I'm not exactly sure how long it took. They should have given you a date that they will send out notifications on. This came in an email for me. Just check that email everyday. They ACTUALLY sent out notifications about a week later than they "said." Good luck finding out! I know how stressful it is. The program is great though! I am really enjoying nursing school and all of the instructors are amazing! Goodluck.
  3. Harry 123, not everyone who received an email to "submit documents" is accepted into the program. That just means you were "qualified" to enter the program. They do a final ranking of ALL the qualified applicants and send out a FINAL email to those that rank the highest. (The top 70) or so. Hope this helps.
  4. nrs209-I would say go for Delta's lvn bridge program. I considered Unitek and those other private tech schools and after meeting with the counselors personally, I did not think it was worth the money. In most of the private schools you don't even get time in an actual hospital. When I spoke to a rep @ unitek they told me all of the clinicals would be done in a long term care facility (for LVN). In addition, unitek is not WASC accredited so you can't get grants. In my personal opinion, I think you would get a much better education from delta over unitek. Community college programs just tend to be better. I will say though, one other option you may consider if you want to go the LVN route, is Xavier. They are quite a bit cheaper (around 20k) and focus strictly on nursing education. I have heard great things about their program. I also spoke with the director of their program. She was VERY nice and informative, and did not try a bunch of "sales" techniques like many of those larger schools. BUT if it were me, I'd hold out for Delta or another community program, and maybe get your CNA in the meantime. Also, maybe take pharmacology while you are waiting. This will help you TREMENDOUSLY when you get into the nursing program. I'm wishing I took it : ) SBNRN- I am @ Lodi memorial and I LOVE IT!! Mrs. Jenkins is the clinical instructor and she is awesome!! She is really laid-back and easy going. Lodi is great because it is a newer facility, and everything is automated. From what I hear, everyone loves their site though. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. None of the sites have a "bad rep" as far as I know.
  5. There are 70 people in our program that just started for fall. Not sure if they picked any "alternates" or not. But I do know some people were admitted the friday before orientation (monday) and a few others even just this week.
  6. Roxy, They DID add Algebra as a pre-req this semester. It's a bummer for those who weren't expecting it. Not sure about the scoring sheet thing though. When we applied they did not require Algebra, but I did just take it last semester in case though. I'm noticing a lot of schools are adding it as a pre req. It makes it easier for everyone in the long run I guess. I personally HATE math though. But whatever... Good luck with applying. I know it can be tedious! Let us know if you have any other questions along the way. D
  7. Yes, I received my uniforms a few days ago. So, you should be getting them soon. They were back ordered when I ordered them as well. The should send you an email letting you know that they have shipped, and then charging your credit card. As for the books, OH MY. Yeah, I couldn't find them much cheaper online. Once you add shipping for all the separate orders it just didn't seem worth it to me. But man. OUCH, I went on campus and bought them. THATS A LOT OF BOOKS! Suddenly reminded of how soon summer vacation will be over : (
  8. I signed up for Lodi Memorial. I wasn't planning on taking the skills class. I may change my mind though. Cobee- You don't seem high strung! I had a mini heart attack this morning. This whole thing is like walking on egg shells. I mean we made it this far, and with all these deadlines. It's scary to think that you won't start school over some silly mistake.
  9. ALSO, the fitting is in Locke 228
  10. Cobee and Others: Call this # to register for classes. 209-476-7901. There is a problem with registering if you took pre-reqs outside of SJDC. Also, the uniform fitting is on the 8th from 10am-2pm. Lastly, make sure you register for BOTH ADN 1 and 2. Goodluck! See you all soon!
  11. The Apps are available on other phones as well-PDA's, Droid, Iphone, etc. You can check if your phone is compatible on their website.
  12. SHOES- check out this all nurses thread on shoes... https://allnurses.com/nursing-shoes-footwear/best-shoes-ever-175170.html
  13. About Phone APPS- A friend of mine is in Samuell Merrits program and has an Iphone with the Skyscape program application. You can get this on the droid and other PDA phones as well. It one of the largest medical resources for phone APPS. She says it has been ESSENTIAL to the program. She uses several of the applications, including the Davis's drug guide and the encyclopedia, and the lab guide. Check it out. They seem really useful, and you can buy them individually or in packages.
  14. About the immunizations-YES it does seem like a lot to cram in. I think the dealine for those is mid July though. Whew... It really is a pain trying to "upload" all the required docs into the magnus health website : 0
  15. About the Dove apparel- They do look sort of funny. I really wish they would just continue the old uniforms. They were much more aesthetically pleasing : ) Oh well. I guess we just have to fork out the money and get them.
