Anyone applying to Madonna University

U.S.A. Michigan

Just wondering, I am a Madonna student and I haven't found anyone else on here from my school. :redpinkhe

Thank you very much for the helpful info! Once you start the nursing program, how many semesters long is it? I was just trying to estimate the cost to finish the program.

It's 5 semesters long. Are you attending? They should give you the curriculum when you start at the nursing school, at least my advisor did :)

I am taking the TEAS in June and applying in July, so hopefully I will get accepted. I am just trying to figure out a financial plan since I am thinking the only financial aid I will qualify for is loans, so I am hoping I can save up some more money to pay for some tutition on my own along with student loans.

Hi! Have you taken the TEAS V test? I have the study book, but just wondered what you thought of the test.

when I was applying it was still the 4 which was very easy butI heard the 5 is not bad at all. I did use the study book which I thought was helpful and a lot of people said the online tests were very helpful but I couldn't afford both and had already bought the book when my friends had told me that so... When are you taking it? Good Luck!

I am taking it on June 7th at Schoolcraft College. Madonna's testing person said I could transfer the score in. I wanted to take it at Schoolcraft because I needed it for their waitlist which is a few year wait. I just wanted a backup plan just in case I didn't get into Madonna or somewhere else sooner than Schoolcraft would start.

Hi Melbell2005 & iluvpatho,

I was really nervous about applying to Madonna until I read your posts. Now I am excited and cannot wait to go for the transfer seminar. The money issue is a bit intimidating. This will be my first degree & I will be transferring classes from OCC & WCCCD. Congratulations & good luck to both of you! Please keep this newbie updated on your progress. What you both have written is so uplifting and positive. :) Thank you.

Awww thanks! Yes, I was very scared when I transferred there and almost didn't but now I am finally in nursing school and so happy. The price really isn't that bad either even though its a private school. Just go for it, get good grades and you will be fine!

Just a hello to all my Madonna people out there. I graduated with my BSN last May and have now been a nurse for over a year. Let me tell you, I hated Madonna when I was there, but am thankful for it now. I really feel that place prepared me to make judgements and critical decisions that otherwise I wouldn't have had fostered. The patho teacher is wonderful there and it puts you a step ahead of a lot of people because it teaches you mechanisms of action and how to think things through.

Most Madonna grads I know usually go on and work in specialty units. 3 of my friends that graduated a year before me are now in anesthesia school. Madonna has a good reputation for passing CRNA's as well.

The place drove me nuts, but I am thankful. I want to get my MSN, join the staff and put a dude's stamp on that place and teach.

Good luck all my Madonna people.

Chuckz-You should, a male teacher would be awesome! :yeah:

Hi! Does anyone know what scores on the TEAS are expected? I know some schools just had cut off scores, but Madonna didn't say anything about scores would be competitive enough. I know they use other criteria when looking at applicants, but I just want to make sure I submit the best possible exam score that I can do.

When I applied it was 70 cutoff but that was the TEAS 4 but I found out while talking to people that you were good if you had an 80 or up so I guess my best advice would be to ask your advisoror any classmates. I will tell you though, the longer I am in the program the more I absolutely love it. I really hope you just go for it, I know how it feels trying to get in someplace. I looked in to O.U. a few years ago myself and Wayne State but the wait at OU was so long and Wayne State wasn't gonna work either sooo it took em awhile to put all my eggs in one basket but I can't tell you how times I just thank God I did.
