Anyone applying to Madonna University

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Just wondering, I am a Madonna student and I haven't found anyone else on here from my school. :redpinkhe

I started last fall. To best honest with you it all depends on your GPA, teas score, and how long you have been at madonna or how many semester hours you have taken. But ihearing from many sources, it is quite easy to get in but not as easy as other nursing schools since Madonna is well known. But hopefully we get in soon cause I am sick of waiting lol and thanks for the patho support.

Oh and I forgot to mention that a competative GPA is 3.7 and for teas it depends since each term it goes up and down. But it is around 84-87.

Yes, I've heard many different things myself. I also started this past fall, I've heard different things but I hope I get to start in Winter I'm sure Ill probably have wait. I just have general ed's in the fall so I can't wait for this semester to be over. I know I'm being nosey and I understand if you don't want to say but how did you do on the TEAS? I'm just curious, because I'm not sure if my score is that great or good enough. Also do you know when we hear about our app's? I've heard they send letters out in September, but I'm not sure...

lol your not being nosey :clown:,I actually took the teas twice. First time I took was in March and I got a 75 overall % because I panicked on the Math part and ran out of time. I was super furious about that mistake because I am really good in math. So I actually retook the teas just yesterday and I knew I aced through it all since every question was the same exact thing. Science was my favorite part, and Math was a revenge for me. lol But I heard so many na 80 is good enough and people are getting in with a 75-78. So idk we shall see in a couple of weeks then I can relax for a lil bit then have no life again!:lol2: The real test starts with the nursing program since I have a friend who just started last fall and its a brain workout.

Yeah I've heard, you go through all this work to get accepted and to be able to work even more lol! I had the same problem with math and I was so mad because thats my strong suit as well. I'm glad you heard that about the scores because I just took it a few weeks ago and I wasn't sure what people were getting in with..I got a 84.5% so I hope it's okay...well good luck for both us starting in Winter :)

Ya your teas score seems high enough. As long as your GPA is up there as well, then you have nothing to worry about. What are you planning to take in the Fall or are you just taking general ed classes? Thank you and good luck to you as well. Can't wait to start the real test .

I hope so, my GPA is okay but I don't think its perfect so I guess no matter what I worry :) I have just gen ed's, patho is my last pre-req which I will be done with on Tues hooray! A very interesting class but very time consuming and stressful. I have RST 4110, MIS 3350, and HUM 201 :) It will be a break I think

Wow lucky you! Ya My fall is going to be crazy compared to yours. I am also taking RST but its the 3500 course. I am already stressed out for patho! :yeah: lol

yes, it should be nice. I actually think micro was harder just because its so tedious and boring, but the teacher is great. Patho is hard but I think I've learned more in it then any other class, to do well on the tests you really have to understand everything which was new for me because I've always just done a lot of memorizing in science classes. Practice and do all the SI stuff that they post, its exactly like the tests, do that and you'll have an A!:smokin:

I'm sssoooo glad to read the phrase "I actually think micro was harder just because its so tedious and boring, but the teacher is great." It means that they FINALLY got rid of the E-V-I-L micro teacher that I had to put up with. She was the only option, and she was the rudest, meanest, nastiest teacher I've ever had. She would literally roll her eyes at you if you asked a question, and the only students that she was not demeaning to were the genetics students. She was an insanely hard grader too. She would mark an entire answer if you slightly misspelled something. Spell Streptococcus pnemoniae wrong: your entire answer was wrong, even if all you did was leave out one letter somewhere, or add in an extra.

Ugh...hopefully she's either gone for good or at least sticking solely to the genetics department. I just kept my head down, tried to ignore the drama, and studied my behind off for that class.

It was a hard class but my teacher marked wrong for misspelled words to so I hope its the same professor. Well anyhow it sucked it is the only class I didn't get an A in! Did you have the only teacher for patho that teaches it? I know she's been there for awhile and gives essay tests...

Probably. Does she speak really quietly and spend the entire class outlining boxes on the over head? If so, definately her, lol. (She's a totally sweet lady though....just not the most exciting lecturer).
