Anyone applying to Madonna University

Hi Everyone,

I am a transfer student and I got my acceptance letter into the school. Just waiting for to see what classes they took and to come up with a plan of study. As far as the nursing program itself, when you go to apply to that, will they just use an established Madonna GPA and the TEAS test score? I was just curious how that works and if they take applications yearly or what.

Hi! I just had an advising appt and they took all of my transfer credits, so I just have to take A & P II and then the remaining 4 courses for the major besides the nursing major courses if I get accepted into it. She went over the admission process, so the last thing I have to take is the TEAS test and then I can apply for fall of 2011. She said applications are due by Jan 31, 2011. I was going to start taking classes this fall, but I am going to wait till winter.

:redpinkheAwesome, you will love it here :) I start my nursing classes next semester woo hoo! If you want any advice on teachers or anything feel free to e-mail me and let me know how your TEAS goes, I thought it was a lot easier then anticipated. I have a few friends that are also applying for Fall 2011. Who is your advisor? just curious, there are some really awesome ones there. Isn't the nursing school nice too?

Hi guys, I am currently a new Madonna Student. I am almost done with my pre requisites! I have patho left, NFS 2230 AND RST 3500, i took my teas on friday and I cant wait to see my score. I am so nervous because I am not that good at standardized tests. My dream is to become a nurse and i hope i overcome it at madonna. The only thing I am afraid about is I only have 14 credits at madonna, and i will be having 8 credits next semester cuz im done! I hope they choose me for FALL 2011, i dnt want to wait any longer. pray for me!!

I'm sure they will long as your GPA is decent and TEAS score :) I am starting the nursing program this Winter and I love it at Madonna :) Patho is a great class, I learned so much in there!

Wow, Im happy for you. I cant wait to get accepted hopefully. When you applied, how long did it take them to send you their response? and yes patho seems like a good subject. I personally love biology.

I applied for upper division in the summer, I got all my stuff in early, I think I submitted my letter in early June :) Who is your advisor if you dont mind me asking? Last fall they didn't send out letters until mid september amd the rejections went out first so I was expecting to get mine sometime mid september but I actually got it Aug. 25! So I never really had to go through the waiting thing thankfully :) what semester are you planning on applying for>?

I am going to give all my stuff in early also, but I am just waiting to get my teas score! Hopefully I get like a 75 or higher. My advisor is -----, shes old. I am hopefully going to apply for fall 2010. I mean i graduated HS in 09 so I guess its pretty good to start next year by the time I got my pre reqs. I was wondering what do they really look for in the letter of intent??

Thats really good I am far behind lol, I had to take time off because I had two lil boys close in age so I started back fall 09 to complete my stuff :) Anyhow I think they just wanna know why u wanna be a nurse, why at madonna, and i also added why i felt i would be successful in the program and i think if you have relevant experience in healthcare then I would add that as well. I turned mine in before i even took my teas but was scheduled for it...anyhow my advisor is really nice and she actually took me to hand deliver it to dr cross so i thought that was really nice..

No I do not have any medical experience :) I know some people get prof. recommendation letters too but I didn't and I don't think they look at that. I think they just look at grades, TEAS scores, and your letter. I think they look at your trend of grades too but I don't really know. Its kind of like a guessing game, even at the point Im at because they no longer have an orientation so I have no idea what to expect until my first day in January, I also don't know any other students because all the nursing students i knew started last spring or this fall, so it really sucks..a lot of schools have their nursing school handbook on-line but not Madonna, so its all a mystery lol
