I haven't heard from any Gwinnett Tech applicants on here lately, is anyone here applying? I took the HESI evolve reach today, and I feel like I may still be in the running for one of the few spots that they have available. If anyone here thinks they might possibly get in, lets all start some communication on here so we can keep up with everything that's going on.
Hey there! Hope you summer is gonna be relaxing, the fall is quickly coming and it is going to be a bear! In the second packet (i think it was) there was mention of "You will be charged for professional Liability Insurance when you register - this fee approximately $20 will be included in your fees. Please complete the form for us to send to insurance company." The form wwas the one that says Gwinnett Technical College Liability Insurance Information across the top.
BTW, have you look in at the fall schedule yet? It does not tell us much about our class, but the class ahead of us is down to 33 students. That has me a little concerned. They lost 5 in this last couple of months because at our info meeting Kim said that they had lost only 2. I wish there was a way we could talk to some of the upper class members. I know it would sure help me sleep better at night to have some answers, even if they are scary ones.
Looking forward to seeing you Sept 21!
I dont know about anyone else, but i found the information that we have received thus far to be very vague, almost as though i am missing things. I think the one piece of information that most of us really need is about the scheduling. We all have other responsiblities outside of school, and we really need to be able to get things put into place BEFORE Sept 21. And, i wish they would have a Big Sister program. I have a lot of questions that i would really like to ask to someone actually in the program. The fact that we have to order uniforms on line and right before clinicals start has me the most concerned. I know just for my job I have sets of Cherokee, Greys Anatomy, and Urbane and they all fit differently especially in the Gluteal region. That is something i would love to ask an upper classman about, not bother Kim with.
Am i the only one obsessed with tiny little details? I am driving my husband nuts worrying about everything.
I don't have that form! WTH am I missing here?! You said it was in the 2nd packet? The packet I recieved had 5 attatchments and I downloaded and printed all of them..... no insurance form! I guess I'll have to bug her again and ask her to re-send it to me. Now I feel like the dumb girl in the class and class hasn't even started yet!
Hi! I am so sorry that I have not responded earlier. To be honest, we have been up to our ears with school and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! Yes, it is a lot of work. Yes, it's crazy. Yes, there are days that you feel frustrated. BUT.. I wouldn't trade it for anything and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. First of all, I have been blessed with the most amazing group of people in my class. Everyone works hard and the different personalities and backgrounds make it so fun and interesting. Most of us felt like we were a family within the first week and that has continued to grow. We are nearing the end of our first quarter together so the pressure is on with all of the last minute exams and check offs. The instructors absolutely love what they do which is a huge plus. They all have different personalities and styles which at times has been a source of frustration, but you are going to experience that in the real world and in any nursing school... that's part of life. I feel like they have really been behind us and done their best to help us learn all that we can. Are they perfect? Absolutely not. Do they try their best? I truly believe that they do. If you have any other specific questions, shoot them at me. I will try to get back to you more quickly now that I know that people are posting. YES! I would recommend GTC. Keep working hard. It's worth it.
quick question... i know a lot of people were saying that they knew they were accepted because their status changed to director approval with a date. where is that information located? i have an interview on tuesday and wanted to know how i can check and see once they finish with interviews whether i get in.

Yeah, finally! I had sent the director an email asking about malpractice insurance because the packet made no mention of it. She hasn't responded yet. Does anyone know if we are required to have it?
