Anyone applying to Gwinnett Tech fall 2010 class?

Published

I haven't heard from any Gwinnett Tech applicants on here lately, is anyone here applying? I took the HESI evolve reach today, and I feel like I may still be in the running for one of the few spots that they have available. If anyone here thinks they might possibly get in, lets all start some communication on here so we can keep up with everything that's going on.

Hi there. I am applying as well. How was the test? I am taking it next week. I'm trying to stay positive and hope that I have a shot. I have met a lot of wonderful people so we'll see. Any suggestions as far as focus for the test? I'm glad you started this post. I'm dying to talk to someone about things as we go through this process. ha ha. I hope you did well!

Thanks so much for your reply. I think it is about time we get some dialogue started on here, ya know! Well, the test was not as bad as I was anticipating, but definitely not easy. Make sure you study the metric conversions, A&P, basic Biology, and the vocabulary words in the study guide were some of the exact same words on the test. There were at least 6 questions on diffusion and osmosis. Ummm.... I'm trying to remember some other details, it's kind of a blur now! Just take your time and do the sections in the order that you choose, but save the learning styles and personality test for last because they aren't required, so if you run out of time on them, it doesn't count. I got a 92 overall, and I studied for about 25 hrs. the week before I took the test. Good luck!! :)

I took my exam today and got an 88, I hope its high enough to get in. Anybody know the average score/ gpa of the current class?

I have no idea, I've heard conflicting rumors about what kind of score is high enough. On one hand I had someone tell me that a score between 90 and 100 is ideal. Then I heard from someone else that people who got in last year were scoring as low as 83. So, basically we know nothing! We'll all just have to keep our fingers crossed! :uhoh3:

Today i heard 84 by someone taking the test as well. Just rumor though. The lady at the meeting said the average gpa was 3.4, so maybe my 3.8 will make up for my short comings on the exam.

I'm hoping to be able to apply for the 2011 or 2012 class. I register for classes this saturday and I PRAY that they take the 3 pre-req classes that I have for transfer so that it will make things a whole lot easier for me. I hope to be done with pre-reqs by the end of the fall quarter. What was the entrance exam like?

The exam isnt that hard, however, I was worried about running out of time. There were 55 question each for the math, reading, grammar and vocab and 30 questions each for A&P and biology with two and a half hours to complete it. You get to choose which sections you want to do first then second ect. There are three other sections that are recommended that you do but they are not graded: critical thinking, stress and learning styles. I was able to finish critical thinking and then ran out of time. Overall it wasn't bad but I wish I made a better grade than I did.

I have applied to the fall program as well. I will be taking the Hesi A2 on Saturday. I am very nervous but, have been studying a lot of biology and A&P this week since I haven't taken A&P for over a year now. I feel confident I will do well on the other sections. Good luck to everyone applying!:)

I took the exam on Wednesday and I got an overall score of 86. My GPA is somewhere in the high B range. PLEASE let this be high enough!

I took the A2 today and was very weirded out by my score. It was almost a polar opposit of the NET i took back in November. On the net i rocked on the reading and blew the math portion. However today on the Evolve I only missed one of the math questions and scored HORRIBLE on the reading. I am the same student that used the same resources for both tests...i am sure there is a research paper in this situation somewhere.

I am amazed though that the interviews are starting so quickly after the last test date. I feel pretty good that i will make it to the interview, but i may not make it past that step if that whole ax murderer conviction is noticed on my resume...

Are there any lerkers that are in the current class that can give us some insight as to how it is going?

Do you have to take pre-test to get into nursing school? I never did, I took all pre-req classes, and got into nursing school. No test required. What is going on? This was back in the 1990s. Has it changed that much????
