Hey everyone,
I will be applying to the school of Nursing at University of Miami for Fall 2009. I need to complete my current courses at FIU and about 3 courses in the summer to finish up the pre-reqs for UM. Just wondering if anyone else is applying/considering the Basic BSN program at UM? Did any of you attend the information session that was on Jan. 13th? Anyone spoken to Yenisey Cabrera (the nursing advisor)? Are there any current students from the Basic program? How is it?
Thanks in advance!

I know!!! I was soooo disappointed. Barry's program is wayyyy too expensive $54,000 dollars plus my undergraduate degree loans which equal 34,000 with a grand total of $88,000 dollars I dont think its worth it. I will never pay it off.
Yep..I didn't get into UM, but I applied for FIU '09.
CMB, why don't you apply at FIU and MDC..I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper. Only thing for FIU is that you have to take 2 courses that you probably have not taken yet, as they are unique to the school (Intercultural Communications and Intro to Nursing). If you have a good GPA, i'd give it a shot.
Plus, when they do the point system to evaluate you, since you have a previous Bachelor's Degree they give you 3 extra points.

Hi Chichi,
So Nova has a better facility than UM?? But Nova doesnt offer an accelerated Nursing program. Nova offers a 36 month program which for me is too long. I would believe you would have a good chance of getting into the University of Miami's program since your an ALUMNI. What did you get your undergraduate in??
