anyone apply for sccc fall 2011 nursing program?

Published

Just looking for company ... Has anyone applied for ammerman's fall 2011 nursing program? What are your grades and does anyone know last years GPA cutoff? Also, do you know anyone who got in without four A's?

This is a new thread...others are from a few urs ago.

Okay then maybe I am screwed! I am currently taking micro now....so no good for me. Maybe I'll get in anyway.....

But congratulations to those of you who did it! You should all be so proud and have a huge party! :yeah::yeah:

FYI for those of you who have not gone to the nursing information seminar there will be one on May 4th at 2pm in Ammerman. I put it off long enough now I have to go, hopefully it won't be too painful.:crying2:

Hamptonchic.... Do we need to attend seminar even if we have not been accepted yet? Are there any other dates? Thanks.

Howdy everyone,

Like everyone else on this thread, I am also waiting anxiously for a letter of acceptance to be mailed. I'm so happy to hear that it looks like the letters are going out next week! I was getting very angry that they were making us wait so long!

I hope I have a good chance of getting in. I already have a BA in English, so I didn't even bother taking the Freshman Comp. class. Intro to Pysch I took at Stonybrook some years ago and I believe I got a B, if I remember correctly.

My other grades are:

A&P I - A

A&P II - A

Micro - A

I also joined Suffolk's honor society and have a 3.9 gpa. I am hoping that this will be enough to get me into the program, but nothing in this life is set in stone. I was rejected for the Stony Brook nursing programs, both the accelerated and the two-year, which was disappointing.

I wish everyone here lots of luck and please keep us posted when you hear something. To those that already got phone calls - congrats! :yeah:

Divine, I'm not sure if you have to attend if you haven't been accepted ( I know I haven't seen my letter yet) they give you information on what the program is about. I believe they have these seminars every month.

The point in the information session is for people to gain information on the application process, such as requirements of getting into the program. When I went they really didn't talk much about the program itself, but rather just what to do to get in. I found it helpful, but I went last year before I had even applied. At this point, it's really not necessary to go, if you don't want to or have time, in my opinion.

Hopefullinurse, I too was denied from SBU, with a 4.0 gpa and 200 hours of volunteering there. Good luck with Suffolk! Maybe that's just our destiny, for now. I don't have any prior degrees so I only applied to the basic program, and was disappointed/angry to have been rejected. Hoping for some happiness from Suffolk :)

I thought I saw earlier in this string that the "Rejection" letters went out 1st.... I sure hope that was true - I am stressing enough thinking if its an acceptance or waitlist - now maybe rejection..... UGH

Laura

Rejection letters definitely went out already. A few weeks ago people in my classes got them. I've also spoken to admissions and they confirm that! We are all accepted or waitlisted.

ok exciting to know that, i feel better thanks! still anxious but it's a good anxious - we have made the 1st cut "so to say"!

good luck

***so no mail today for me BUT, a friend of mine got a rejection letter today in the mail- but i already talked to you today over txt and on the phone quickly...lol. has anyone gotten any rejection or acceptance letters today in the mail?

DivineIntervention- the nursing seminars are just informational which is where i got most of the info that I have been telling you about here and there. its only about 30-45 minutes long depending on how many questions people have and what not. I went to one in the fall or late summer, something like that.

Do not be fooled! Rejection Letters that went out a few weeks ago were NOT the rejection letters....these are the people who did not have all four pre reqs and or too low gpa.......we are NOT all in....there are still rejection letters to come for those of us who do not make the cut!
