Hello all,
I was just curious who applied to NS in the Sacramento California programs.
Have any of you heard anything yet?

I'm about a year behind you, but once I wrap up the pre-reqs in Fall I'll be applying to the BSN program at CSUS and the ASN programs at ARC & SCC. Samuel Merritt isn't on my radar screen, but at my volunteer duties I run into SM students on their clinicals and they have all kinds of good things to say about it. I'm also going to apply to a bunch of programs outside the area just to be safe.
Let me know how your apps turn out, and good luck! :)

I've applied to CSUS, ARC, SCC, and Sierra. I haven't heard anything yet and don't expect to until mid-May when CSUS is supposed to email the Selected/Alternate/Ineligible letters. Waiting is torture, isn't it?
MedicalNerd, what schools have you applied to?

For Fall 08 I applied for ARC, SCC and Sierra.
This is my 4th time applying to ARC and my 3rd at SCC and Sierra.

I will be applying to the Sacramento area programs in Fall of 2009 or Spring of 2010 depending on whether I can get added into Physiology or Organic Chemistry this Fall. I'm signed up for Microbiology already, but wanted to try 2 sciences together this time around.
I think I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Any bets as to whether it's really an oncoming train? :stone

It's hard not to be curious, isn't it?
I didn't apply to CSUS because the competition is so tough.
My GPA is only 3.3 and My teas was not going to be high enough to stay competitive with the other applicants.
I am just not a good test taker.
one of the nurses at UC Davis said the CSUS nursing program is terrible! I wouldn't fret it too much if you can't get in there. Other fish in the sea are waiting....
I totally agree, I feel that Nursing School is what you make it and it will not matter if it is an ADN or a BSN program.

'I applied to CSUS for Fall 2008. I know im not going to get in though because I got an 84 on the teas, but I do have 3.9 pre-req gpa. They are only taking 40 for this Fall, if you dont mind, whats your info? Im curious....and when are they gonna tell us? Next week? WE should ask them to define "Mid-May"
I actually did not apply to CSUS for fall 08 however I do know that they have a matrix on the nursing website that will show you how many points they give for the gpa and the teas score. It also tells you what the cut off for the points are. I think last semester it was like 73 pts and above they accepted.
The lowest gpa was 3.4 and the lowest teas was like 84. You still may have a really good chance of getting in with your GPA being 3.9. Did you qualify for any additional points like previous medical experience or language? Those will really help you!
Good luck! I am really crossing my fingers for you! I would think that they would be sending out the letters any time from now to the end if May but then again I couldn't say for sure since I am not the one calling the shots:nuke:
