  1. My initial plan was to apply to 5 schools last go round, but one changed their requirements, another cancelled their spring program indefinitely, another shut out external applicants due to the state budget crisis so I was left with only 2 to apply to and now I've been rejected by both. Now I'm just waiting for the next application period.
  2. I got my rejection letter from Sac City College today.
  3. I got my letter telling me that I did not get into ARC last week, but haven't received anything from Sac City yet. The waiting is driving me crazy.
  4. OMG! I'm so excited for you! I didn't get in this time, but I'm so happy for you!
  5. Hi Tami, My name is Kristine. I also sent you a private message here on Allnurses with more info.
  6. What I heard was that notification letters should be out 8 weeks after the application deadline. I'm waiting to hear too. Good luck!
  7. Hi Tami, I just finished most of my community college level pre-reqs at Sierra and am slowly working through the additional pre-reqs required for Sac State so that I can increase my options for nursing school. I'd be happy to study with you or be available to answer questions so that I can keep the material fresh in my head while I'm waiting to get into a school. What are you taking this semester? Oh, and I'm 38, married, and have a son in elementary school.
  8. our bookstore got wise to this and has roped off the book area. You tell them what class you're taking and their employees select the books for you. I don't know what they'd do if you whipped out a notebook, copied down the ISBNs and handed them back. Could be funny though. :chuckle
  9. Hey Chickapea- A student from my Anatomy class got accepted to the Sutter extension program and will be starting this Fall. I'll check in with her to see what she thinks after she has a chance to get going. Another friend of mine graduated with her RN from Delta and had nothing but wonderful things to say about it, but she lived near Elk Grove at the time and the drive was much shorter for her than it would be for me.
  10. OK, I'll bite... how do you change the Depends w/o taking the pants off?
  11. Debi (and everyone else)- I just re-discovered this site: http://physiwiki.wetpaint.com/ which may be helpful, but keep in mind that it's a wiki and double check the info you find. I did notice some really good looking illustrations and a few videos included in the sections within the chapter pages. -stine
  12. I just found these and some of them are kinda cool. http://www.stolaf.edu/people/giannini/biological%20anamations.html
  13. hmm... my guess would be B. Thinning of skin as you grow older.
  14. Here's my take on it. Does this sound right to everybody else? Graph: Effect of breathing rate on blood O2 levels independent variable: breathing rate dependent variable: blood O2 levels Graph: Effect of blood O2 levels on breathing rate independent variable: blood O2 levels dependent variable: breathing rate The thing that varies independently is the thing that then affects the value of the dependent variable.
  15. This week we're covering DNA replication and protein synthesis so it looks like we're on a similar schedule.
