Just wondering if anyone has applied to Umass Boston and Umass Medical (in Worcester), Simmons and MGH for 2009 direct entry and BSN @ UMB? I am a little confused on what is taking them so so long to get back to me. My undergrad GPA is 3.2, got a 3.85 in all the prerequisites, decent GRE scores...I got in last year at UMass Medical, they called me a week before the program started (I guess I was wait listed), but I couldn't attend since not all my prerequisites were completed. I just called Umass Med. and they told me they already picked the 25 students and I wasn't one of them. It would be nice if they send a notice once in a while, but nothing. Anyone please heard anything, I'm desperate, I hope I got in at least one school, not picky at this point, just desperate

When I contacted them they told me that all letters would be going out at the same time, but I just got confirmation last week that my application was processed. I think I am going to call. Simmons was my first choice, so I am dying to know.
Every time I call Simmons I just get a VM response from their admissions person. Do you all just leave VM messages and wait for them to call back or are you able to get through to someone?
Did they say all letters were going out the end of this week or specifically yours?
Did you get an email from them that your application has been processed?
I also applied very close to the deadline. I know they received my application only because I hand delivered it.
If we hear by the end of the week, it may be give those who have been accepted to MGH and have not sent in our deposits yet time to decide between the two schools.

Regarding their e-mail and phone call my letter was coming this week, not sure if she meant all the letters. My application was processed 10 days after they received it, and today's e-mail to me said it was still with the reviewing committee. When I called last week, they said there was another 90 applications to be reviewed, I guess I was in that 90, the last 90. So maybe everyone will hear smth by the end of the week I guess. I just made my deposit today to Umass Med, not taking any chances seeing how everything is so competitive and fast.
They said (Simmons) that they received 50% more applications than last year so maybe that is slowing them down a bit and they weren't able to send out all the letters together. Anyone have any thoughts on Simmons vs. MGH? Why you are choosing one over the other?
I talked to someone at Simmons, and she told me to expect my letter by the end of the week. I think all letters should be out by then. Good luck everyone!
I spoke to Admissions at Simmons yesterday. They are sending out letters for the 2nd batch of people by next week! They said they had to split the apps into 2 because they were overwhelmed by the amt of apps this year. Close to 300 for 100 acceptances. They also said they usually accept 100 but only about half of those end up going! So it probably would help if you tell them now you are really interested if you haven't heard...
By the way, for those of you who are waiting for NEU, they sent me an e-mail today stating there were only 27 spots and they will be sending out letters by next week. I am pretty sure I was not accepted there but who knows!
