The deadline is the last Friday in March. From now on I going to open my options because I am now aware competition is pretty fierce for jobs; for some reason I just assumed a job was going to just appear and float down in my hand like a feather, how naive. BTW I graduate this upcoming May. I am starting to get pretty freaked out about jobs now. And, have you all heard anything about Scott & White? Seton was my first choice, but I'm just making more room.
Thank you so much rnamelia!! I know that anxious feeling but you'll be fine! jbart15 Im glad if I was able to help you in any way, I am crossing my fingers for you and rnamelia!! Also, I feel the same about S&W seeming like an amazing place to work, especially as a new grad. The nurses I met were all so friendly, helpful, and truly seemed like they were enjoying their jobs. I left the hospital with a really good feeling because it seemed like a supportive environment to begin a career as a nurse. Off topic but have you taken the NCLEX? If not when are you planning on taking it?
Hi RNamelia! I am pretty sure you won't be hearing any answers soon until after next week because I know they are still doing interviews until the end of next week. Unless they have a lot of positions open and wants to fill them up ASAP. Cause I applied for med/surg and they called me the very next day for an interview that was suppose to be scheduled for next Thursday. So I assume it won't be until after that?
Hey Ktlam! Thanks for the information. I don't interview until later this week but I wanted to get a feel for the usual turn-around time on their decisions.... Ya know, see how long I'll be torturing myself over every aspect of the interview. :-) Are you doing a phone interview or an in person interview?
Hi rnamelia! I interviewed on a thursday, went back and shadowed a nurse the following monday and I received the offer on wednesday. I think it is probably different depending on the unit you applied to because Im sure they had more or less applications for certain floors. I applied for pediatrics.
Hi everyone!! I am also applying for an internship position at Scott and White. I haven't had my phone interview yet (I'm from out of state) but I was wondering if anyone knew any information as far as how they do scheduling there. Are they 12-hr shifts or 8-hr shifts? Starting pay? If anyone knows this information please let me know. Thank you very much! Any help is appreciated ![]()
Hello NurseChristine6! I'm pretty sure they do 12 hour shifts. The nurse recruiter I spoke with said most new graduates will be on the night shift, at least initially... I don't know the answers to the rest of your questions yet (my interview is later this week.) If I find out the answers during my interview I'll be sure to pass the information along to you. I'm out of state also and doing a phone interview. What unit did you apply to?
rnamelia- I'm from New Jersey and I applied for the acute care/ med surg internship. I would've preferred one of the specialties but when I applied that is all they had open. How about you? I'm super nervous for this interview! I don't know what to expect lol. Keeping my fingers crossed for it to go well! Good luck to you as well, and if you get any info before I do please let me know hun. Thanks!

Hi katielady! I'm from California and I actually just had my interview today! It went great and you were right! The interview was nothing like I expected it to be. Thanks for the advice and help! I appreciate it! And as a side note, I'm crossing my fingers that I hear back from them sometime this week. S&W seems like an amazing place to work after touring the floors. The nurses are so nice and from what I can tell, they really support their new grads. Crossing my fingers for good news!
