U.S.A. Maryland

I have applied for Fall 2010 and received a pink card stated that the application has been processed. I can't wait to see what the outcome will be. Im very anxious to know if I will be attending CCBC this Fall. Anyone applied for Fall 2010 at CCBC?

Finally got my letter today! So happy that it's official :)

So much to do before August 18th! Hope I get to meet some of you in real life :)

Woohoo!!!

Glad you got the letter!!

Congratulations! I am so happy for you too!!! Can't wait to be busy!!

Congrats to everyone that was accepted to all programs!!! I signed up for the July dosage course and I actually purchased the book two months ago....I just wanted to be prepared. I have not really looked at the book so I guess I better get started. I can't wait until the Orientation this month!!! I have a ton of questions and really need to see if I am going to be able to keep my job. I also have a four year old and I am a single parent so I am considering using the early child learning center at the CCBC Essex campus. I have my daughter all signed up for private pre-school in the fall but now I am not so sure that is going to work out for me. I have already started a list of questions....LOL. I am so glad I got in and I can't wait to start but now I have a whole new list of things I have to get worked out before classes start. I also need to talk to financial aid to see about paying for this....It is so funny, I put all my effort into getting in but I am not at all prepared for the next two years. I am sure it will all work out....I just have a TON of questions :) I can't wait to meet you all and start this journey together. One of my very close girlfriends was also accepted into the Essex Day Program, so I am looking forward to already having a friend to start :)

Also for the TEAS....I think you need to have at least an 84%. I also think you need to be done all your classes when you apply. I have done a lot of digging and these seem to be the two most important things :) Again....I am happy to answer any questions :)

I remember calling the admissions office and asking them if they had received my application since I hadn't had a response..you know a post card or something. They asked me if I had taken the TEAS and I said, "what's the Tease?" and they said it was a good thing they asked. The rest is history! LOL

Hello All! So happy for everyone who got accepted into the nursing program this fall! Kudos to you! I am currently still taking prereqs at Catonsville and after this spring semester I have three biology classes left. A&P I&II and Microbiology. Im already freaking out and worried about getting into the program at Catonsville. Does any one have any advice for me that could prep me for what I am up against? Also I have a C in my english class, Do you know anyone that this really hurt in the application process even if they still had a good GPA and a good score on the teas test? Thanks Everyone!:redpinkhe

I got a 72% the first time I took the TEAS, I applied for the spring and was not accepted. I took the TEAS two more times and was able to get an 84%. I am sure this is the reason I was accepted this time. After picking the brains of everyone that was accepted in the spring I knew it was my TEAS Score that screwed me up. All the people that I know were accepted at least got an 82% and above on the TEAS. I also have a good GPA but it is not perfect. I spent two years retaking classes to get my GPA up. I hope this helps and I would be happy to give you my number if you want to call me or just let me know if you have any other questions.

First, I would like to say congratulations to all that got accepted!!! Hopefully, this fall someone will be congratulating me for getting accepted for spring; and I will be the one answering questions.

I got a 70% overall and a 90% in reading. I completely did not pass the math section 48%. I haven't had a math class since 2002. I plan on retaking it as soon as it is offered. My GPA is somewhere between 2.8 and a 3.0. Does anyone have something comparable to this? I am taking Micro this summer with Mr. Meise @ CCBC Dundalk. I am applying to Spring 2011. Any tips or suggestions.

I would suggest you go see a nursing advisor. That's what I did and she told me exactly what I needed to do to get accepted. The GPA is calculated for your required courses...it's not an overall GPA. The TEAS questions came right out of the TEAS study guide so if you know the study guide well, you should do good on the test. The advisor should be able to tell you if the 70% overall is good enough. The 90% is excellent! Good luck!

I would also suggest trying to get a better score on the TEAS Test....I really think that makes a huge difference. I think your GPA is a little low but I am not sure what GPA you are refering to. The nursing advisors are not always the best...maybe you can ask Vinedancer exactly who she met with, I have been to a few that were no help at all. I am sure if you can go to the same one she went to it could be helpful. Also if you look at the PDF for CCBC Nursing you can see how to calculate the three different GPA's they look at. Meise is a great teacher....study hard and try your best to get an A in Micro. How are your other science grades? and your Soci, Psyc grades? If you want to email me in private I would be happy to help you figure all this out....it took me forever to calculate all my GPA's on my own....I could never find the right information. My email address is rebekah77877 at yahoo.com...feel free to shoot me and email and I can try to give you some advice on how to get accepted. They also offer a Math Review at the college for the Teas...I never took it but I should have. That may be something to look into...

Thanks I sent you an email.

I am pretty sure the advisor I spoke with that was so helpful was *********** . She is the case manager for the allied health programs at Catonsville. I had her look over my transcript and she calculated my GPA to make sure it was OK and she made sure I took the necessary courses and got acceptable grades. They also keep records on how many students apply and out of those who apply and meet the criteria, how many are accepted.

I'm wondering if the dosing class is the same no matter what program we are in? If so...which one are you taking?
