hi there! you need to accomplish the form that was sent to you by ca bon then submit the other form to be accomplished by the nursing school you've graduated from. they don't need to have a phil. nursing license to apply to ca.

from this site you will find a lot of answers to most of your questions regarding taking the nclex exam and accomplishing your application.

also to take note that ca does not participate in quick result so it may take you weeks and weeks of waiting for the result of your nclex exam. it took me 11 weeks of waiting. another thing to keep in mind is where you're planning to really work in the us.

well, good luck and hope i was able to help one way or another.

Hi! my sister just recently received her eligibility status from CA BON. I helped her out with her application since I am here in the states and it was easier for me to call CA BON. My suggestion is if you have anybody here especially relatives, ask them a favor to follow up on your application once you have submitted it. Make sure to include a letter of authorization in your application, giving this particular person/relative the authority to inquire about the status of your application with them. Once you have submitted all your requirements, there will be a letter from CA BON informing you that they have received your application and they are basically waiting for the rest of your requirments pending approval. According to CA BON, this takes about 20 weeks but my advice is call them a few weeks after you received the letter and inquire about your status ( a relative here will be a big help) They will asked for your name, file # and date of birth usually, so make sure these details are accessible to whoever is calling. I found out that calling them speed up the processing time of your eligibility status. Hope this will help you. Good luck!!!

if you haven't already received your CA BON application form, visit their website at www.rn.ca.gov. download the application form and click on the button requesting for fingerprint cards. you do not need your philippine license to apply to the board. just make sure you fill-up the form completely, neatly and comprehensively, do not omit anything that is relevant to your case, otherwise, your application will be delayed and returned and fees will not be refunded. i got my att in less than a month.

Caveat to what was posted above:

You do not need to have a Philippine license to get a licence in CA. However, if you did write the NLE exam, you need to provide proof that you passed that exam. It was not necessary to write it, but if you did, you will need to provide the proof to the CA BRN.

Hi. I have already downloaded the forms from the California Board of Nursing Website. If you have seen, they have provided an Examination Application Requirements Checklist. It is written there that you need:

(1)Appropriate Fees

(2)Completed Application for Licensure by Examination

(3)Completed Applicant Fingerprint Card (Hard Card)

(4)One recent 2"x2" recent passport-type photograph

(5)Request for Transcript forms directly from nursing school with certified transcript

For International Graduates:

A.) Send Breakdown of Educational Program for International Nursing Programs form to

your school with the Request for Transcript form. Also, provide the Certified English

Translation form to your certified translator if your transcript is not in English. (See

Supplemental Application Instructions for International Graduates.)

B.) Submit a copy of your license or diploma that allows you to practice professional nursing in

the country where you were educated. If you do not hold a license, a written explanation is

required. Also, provide copies of your certificates for midwifery and psychiatric nursing, if

applicable.

Others have said that the Nursing Program Verification is included and is required for all applicants but as I have seen in the Adobe File and as what I have posted here, it is not included in the checklist. Do I still need to print it and pass it to my school and then let them send it to CABON? Or it does not apply to all applicants?

Thanks!

Please be informed that calling them will not speed up the processing time of your eligibility status it has always been clearly stated even in their recording messages and in the forms that you can retrieve from BRN CA that you can only call after 4 to 6 weeks from the date you submitted the docs to know the status of your application whether its approved or pending for approval or not. I am here in the Phil right now I did call after 6 weeks and was informed that it has been approved then I registered with Pearson and in 24 hrs I got my ATT via email. I send all my docs to them before via federal express my school gave me an option if I want all the docs to be send by them also via fed ex.

Hi Ms. Suzanne... Is it ok if i stated in my letter of intent that I took the NLE but am still waiting for the results? Will this delay my application with CA BON? Thanks in advance...
