I am frustrated at the amount of piddly sick call requests that come across our desks. How can we cut down on the volume of insignificant requests?

All those fights and sports injuries.... If the $5 copay is even charged much less having them pay other expenses too hilarious.
But all the whining can be stopped all states need to do what California will probably be doing soon and empty an estimated 12 entire prisons onto the street... All states did the equivalent with mental health patients years ago... So next!! So what will all those poor, poor, mistreated prisoners be doing when they hit the street?

$5 dollars for sick calls. $7 for inmate declared emergency, charge will be waived if it turns out to be valid.

I agree that a lot of it may be behavioral. We charge $4 for sick calls and nothing for doctor/PA visits.
We have US Marshalls/Fed inmates and they get everything for free. Let me tell you... they sign up for everything ALL THE TIME! I wish we could nip this one in the bud!

I hope the federal marshalls will be cracking down on abuses. We have to okay every non-emergent medical change through them. They recently denied an IM who needed to be sent out for major $$$$ dental work. Then they scooped him and took him somewhere they could do it in house.
