Anyone accepted to UCF Daytona Campus in Jan. 2011?

Published

I'm wondering if there are any other students that have been accepted at UCF Daytona in January for the regular BSN program? I just got my acceptance email tonight! I am SO happy and excited!:D The other people I've talked to on here that were accepted are going to Cocoa. Just wondering if there is anyone else out there?!?:nurse:

UCF in Daytona is only two buildings on the Daytona State College campus (Buildings 140 and 150). Most of the campus you saw is Daytona State only. I've been going to DSC for a few years now so that's how I know. A lot of us have probably gone to DSC, or are somewhat local, so if you need help finding anything on campus (or even around town) let us know! I've lived here for about 11 years now :]

I just found out last week that I was accepted too... I'm from Wisconsin so I can't wait to get down there especially as it gets colder up here! Has anyone else received more info? Will we get it in the mail? All I got was the email so far but I feel like there's a ton to be done before I go but I have no idea what...

No I haven't received any more info yet. I was told that we would get another email from the college of nursing giving us the information on the background check and CPR classes and other things we have to complete before starting the program in January. They said that everything will be sent through email, and nothing will come in the actual mail. You'll like the weather down here until summer comes and then you will feel like you're going to die from the humidity lol. Congrats on getting in! I'm so glad that people actually replied to this thread, and I'm very excited to meet everyone in January! :)

I'm sooo excited too. I can wait to move to Daytona and start meeting everyone in the program. And yes I will definitly need help finding my way around Daytona!!!

I got my email with all the info today in my knights mail. Everyone should check your email because you have to sign and return a paper by the 28th!

Yeah I just got my email too!!! So much to do; does anybody know where I can get affordable health insurance or if the college accepts Medicaid (state insurance)?

Thanks in Advance!!!

I think that I have read on previous threads that at the orientation date they say something about offering insurance. I think the thread was a few years old but I guess you could call and check with the Nursing department. Health insurance is not cheap! I don't have any at the moment either. :uhoh3:

They just completely unloaded on us didn't they? Lol. Anyway, I know UCF itself offers health insurance. I'm not sure if the College of Nursing has a specific one or not that they offer. But UCF's will cover us for sure regardless. The link to that is UCF Health Services I have insurance right now, but I'm not sure if I'll still have it in January, so I'll have to look into a backup as well :/

Kay thank you so much for that link! I will probably get insurance through UCF they seem to have a pretty good plan with a lot of providers, definitely better than FL healthcare's "cover Florida" plan.

I also felt like that email had so much info. I'm really new to the whole scanning documents and emailing them, I feel like I'd be worried that they would get lost and never make it to the right person. I wish we could turn it all in ourselves in person lol.

This is so confusing. So, we have to get all these forms filled out and send them to the background check company? this all seems so odd. When is this all due? This confused me with the CPR cert: "Photocopy your card and submit it to Certified Background and Magnus upon course completion or before the 1st day of the College of Nursing Orientation November 30, 2010."

But orientation is in January. confuseddd! They shouldn't slam us with a list and then get dates wrong! :[

I'm not sure either, but it is easier to understand the due dates when you pay the $150 for the background check program. Then you will get a bunch of emails about fingerprinting and urine testing which you can make both appointments online. After that you get the CPR email, and the ATI testing email.

Do any of you know if the $376 for the ATI testing is for the semester or the whole program?

It such a high price I almost fell out my chair reading it, it says on the PDF file to click to make your payment for this semester.

I will die if it's $376 each semester, I mean that is more than my car payment!

I haven't paid for the background check program, but I did get the CPR and ATI testing e-mail from Maureen. The urine testing is the drug test they were saying we'd find out about at a later date, I'm guessing?
