Anyone accepted to UCF Daytona Campus in Jan. 2011?

Published

I'm wondering if there are any other students that have been accepted at UCF Daytona in January for the regular BSN program? I just got my acceptance email tonight! I am SO happy and excited!:D The other people I've talked to on here that were accepted are going to Cocoa. Just wondering if there is anyone else out there?!?:nurse:

I did! I'm so excited to see someone else from the program :] I wish January were here already, I just want it to start! After 5 semesters I'm sure we'll be good friends lol. Congrats to us! :yeah:

Well it's nice to meet you, well kind of lol on here.:) Did you turn in your acceptance letter yet? I turned mine in yesterday and the woman in the nursing office was super nice. Everyone has been really nice in the nursing department, so I'm so excited for January to get here! She told me that we would be getting more information emailed to us about the background check and CPR classes. Are you from Daytona or are you transferring from somewhere else?

Yeah, I ran down there the next morning. I'm from Daytona, just graduated from DSC in May. Did you see Maureen then? She's been awesome through the whole process, I'm glad she's around! She also told me we'd need a good chunk of money in December for supplies and test kits with ATI. Are you going to join the club on campus? I can't see not joining, id like to as soon as possible so I can meet some more people from the school. I've had a hard time of making any lasting friends from school so far :[

Yeah, Maureen is great, so friendly and helpful. I went to DSC too, I graduated last Summer. I did hear something about the ATI tests that we have to take while in the program, do you have any specifics about how many or when we have to take them? I definitely want to join the group on campus, I'm sure we will get more information about it whenever we go to the orientation. Don't worry, I haven't really made any friends from school either, I think it's normal lol. But since our program is so small and theres only going to be 36 of us and we all have nursing in common, I have a feeling we will make friends and really rely on each other to get through the next two years. Hopefully when we all get to meet in person and start class we can form a study group, I'm sure we will need it!

I think the ATI testing is just something we have to do throughout the nursing program. Like, tests to make sure we're on track in the program and to make sure we're ready/prepare us for the NCLEX, I think. Same way standardized tests are used throughout grade school. That's what I gathered from it anyway.

hi i also am going to daytona campus in january..i havent gotten any more info about orientation or background checks anything..im currently in cali visiting my husband and am coming back as soon as i need to..i need to go to ucf's orientation first have yall done that already..?

Yeah, I was admitted for Fall so I went in July. You can do it online though :]

Hey I also got accepted into the program at the Daytona campus. I'm so excited to start. I went up there last weekend for the first time to see the school and a little bit of apartment shopping and found a great apartment there like five minutes away from campus.... Did anyone else visit the campus?

I have been to the campus many times, I live here in Daytona. It's a pretty small campus, I think we will get a lot of one-on-one attention because of the low number of students in our program. I'm very excited to start too! I can't wait. Have you received any more emails from the college of nursing? I haven't yet and I'm so anxious!

Do u know how many students they accepted this year? I thought the campus was pretty big but then again I was looking from the outside....

The woman in the nursing office at the Daytona Campus said that they accept 36 each year. DSC accepts 120 in the Fall and in the Spring, so we are a much smaller group then they are.
