anybody experience transfering nursing programs or schools?

Published

Hi guys. Im currently floating between second and third year of a BScN program at the university in my home town (CBU). Despite being a GREAT program (seriously, me wanting to switch schools has nothing to do with the actual school) but I really want to transfer programs. I NEED to get off my tiny island I call home.. Now, Im wondering if anybody has any experience with transferring programs?

I know a lot of the time you have to repeat some courses and some may not transfer at all... but since my situation being the way it is--how Im taking some third year nursing courses and some second year nursing courses I figure that if there ever was a good time to try to make the switch, it would be after this year is up.

I just want to know ANY opinions or advice, or hear any stories that people may have experienced. I know its not something that many people do, but I really need some advice to go on. I know it entails A LOT of work and headaches--Im prepared for that.

How many years is this program? If I was you, I would stick it out and finish at the current school. Transferring will put you at the beginning of the nursing program because I dont think nursing classes transfer. Good luck!!
