I was wondering if there were any young african american travel nurses and which assignement did u enjoy the most? On my first assignment and I'm not enjoying myself. I want to know the best places to go.
Just accepted an offer Friday for St. Luke's in the Medical Center (Houston). Specialty is Tele. I have heard of some agencies putting nurses in the Fountains at Alameda for housing. Anyone else in/going to Houston? I'll be there early January. I would like to see the beach in Galveston!
This will be me. I'm 23 years old and while I'm open to travelling any and everywhere ideally. My university experience showed me that not everyone is as open as me or welcoming for superficial reasons. I'd like to go somewhere diverse. So I'm hoping for something good! I'm glad I found this thread.
AA RN looking for first travel assignment in houston starting January '15 with medical Solutions. Specialty is Med-Surg. Anyone know of any potential housing that is used in the area. Also, i hear MD Anderson is pretty good, any others? Not looking for roommate but would be interested in meeting up with fellow travelers.

Hi guys. I will have my 1 year experience in July and would like to begin traveling in January. I was wondering what things you bring with you while traveling? Like if you choose your own housing that is not furnished do you rent furniture or bring yours every where? I'm looking for a travel buddy in my age range. I'll be 23 when I begin traveling. I'll be coming from Florida and hope to travel in the California area.
Hey Loves, I have been talking with my recruiter about assignments in California, the only thing that I'm worried about is transportation. Do you all usually rent a car when you arrive or drive to your destination? Is it worth getting a rental? From where I live now its like a 1 1/2 day drive to California:unsure:.

I drove my car from Missouri to California ALONE and it took me 2 1/2 days. You will need a car, especially if you are going to be in Southern Ca, like LA.
I leave my car in storage in California when I fly back home to Missouri. I still have my home jobs and go back home for 1 month between contracts.
