Hello All,
I was speaking to a colleague of mine about FHCHS Online RN-BSN online. I have applied and am still waiting to hear from admissions for Spring '09.
My colleague stated that she "heard" something about FHCHS online. That the degree means "nothing" at the end from there. Of course I was disheartened to hear of that :sniff:because the program looks great and the price is within reason for online learning.
Can anyone give me any of their in site on FHCHS program? Anyone actually enrolled and taking the online courses from FHCHS?
Thanks.

I tried to apply but they told me that they don't accept Excelsior college for there program. Don't know if that is where you graduated from or not. Other than that I heard it is a good school. I have now applied to Nova Southeastern.

hi MrsCrypes,
unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question, but I do have a question for you, I saw in another post that you graduated from BMCC last semester and joined the VNS internship, I will be graduating (also from BMCC) this December and was also thinking of the VNS program, can you tell me something about it? I would appreciate it greatly! thanks and good luck!

one more thing, I don't really know much about the Florida Hospital College, but I do know that SUNY DELHI just opened an on-line RN to BSN program, you can take a class in just 7 weeks and it's only $181 a credit, maybe you should consider that, try this link for more info:

Hello Weronika,
First off, CONGRATULATIONS on this being your last semester (keep your eye on the prize).
We are in our second week of orientation. It is a full year internship with the fist 3 weeks of classroom orientation. Then the next 3 months are of shadowing a nurse mentor. Afterwards I believe (not sure yet as I have not gotten to that point yet) you are spoonfed cases (with tons of support) and still have to attend a VNSNY class once a week. At the end of 12 months, you are given a graduation and must commit to a 2 year contract with VNSNY afterwards.
I my opinion - I LOVE IT!!! VNSNY is the gold standard for homecare across the county. I knew I wanted to go into homecare and this trnasition has made it easy. Homecare is WORK - lots if WORK, you have lots of doumentation (but then again, which nursing doesn't? Nursing= lots of documentation). VNSNY teaches everything you need to be the best homecare nurse out there. They don't just "throw" you in.
There are also amazing benefits for you and your family. There are great investment opportunities as well. I think this was the best work decision I made for a new nurse wanting homecare.
Feel free to ask me anything else. Are you in the day or evening program at BMCC?

be careful! there are "made up" instituitions of accrediation that schools commonly called "diploma mills" will use.
here is a link to a list of bogus accredited schools:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_unaccredited_institutions_of_higher_learning
also- some claim to be internationally recognized by organizations such as unesco. unesco, however, does not possess the mandate to accredit or recognize institutions of higher education or their programs and diplomas.
florida hospital college of health sciences is regionally accredited by the commission on colleges of the southern association of colleges and schools. they have a 92 year hertiage at their school, are a non-profit university, and member of the seventh day adventist church.
regional accreditation is the primary type of institutional accreditation in the united states. some institutions with online programs hold national accreditation rather than regional accreditation because they are unwilling or unable to meet the rigorous standards of regional accreditation.
many educational institutions holding regional accreditation do not recognize credits or degrees earned at institutions that are nationally accredited. this is an important distinction if you plan on transferring credits from one college or university to another during your degree program, or if you plan to pursue advanced degrees at other colleges or universities.
hope this clarifies the importance of accreditation and your degree. the fhchs bsn site is here if you want more info:

Why don't you try a state university.
I am going to Florida international Universiy for my RN-BSN online and so far it is great! and it is less expensive too. $109 per credit.
