VNS of New York
yes, you are right, just until recently they only offered an externship for BSN nurses, but now they also offer one for ADN nurses, I know that for a fact because a representative from VNS came by my school and told us about it, I am guessing that it probably works the same as the BSN program, the only difference is that they pay slightly less for it, so if any of you are in either program (BSN or ADN externship) please let me know your opinion of the program, thanks a lot!

VNS of New York
hello, I live in New York and I am about to get my ADN, I have heard that the Visiting Nurse Service of New York offers one year externship for new grads, do any of you have any information on that? if any of you are in the program right now can you tell me how it works? how many hours a day do you work? what kind of care do you provide? how is the paperwork? does the training include any class time? I would appreciate any information you can provide, thanks a lot!

Any views about Florida Hospital College??
one more thing, I don't really know much about the Florida Hospital College, but I do know that SUNY DELHI just opened an on-line RN to BSN program, you can take a class in just 7 weeks and it's only $181 a credit, maybe you should consider that, try this link for more info: http://www.delhi.edu/academics/online_degrees/nurs/index.php

hi MrsCrypes, unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question, but I do have a question for you, I saw in another post that you graduated from BMCC last semester and joined the VNS internship, I will be graduating (also from BMCC) this December and was also thinking of the VNS program, can you tell me something about it? I would appreciate it greatly! thanks and good luck! Weronika

NYC new grads
hi everybody! I am a senior student and will be graduating in December 2008, I wanted to aks all of you who live in NYC how did you look for a job, when did you apply first? how long did it take you to get an offer? which hospitals are best to apply to? I mean I know there are many hospitals out there that will not hire new grads, so I don't want to waste time on them... any type of information or advice will be greatly appreciated, also if you know of any hospitals in New York that offer externships in the winter, please let me know, thanks a lot!

Problems already:(
nurses are only people- some people are cool, some are not, some are weird and hard to figure out, some care about you and some don't etc...all I am trying to say is don't worry about it too much and hang in there, you shouldn't give up just because of one person, good luck to you!

NCLEX study tips
hey everyone, I have one semester left till graduation, and I am slowly starting to think about the NCLEX and how I probably don't remember much from my classes, how did you study for your exam? did you remember a lot of material from school? did you go for some NCLEX review course? how many questions did you do before you felt ready? also, which books did you use to study from, and how did you like them? I guess all this time I was thinking of NCLEX being so far away that I didn't worry about it, but now I am slowly starting to freak out...any advise is much appreciated, thanks!
