Any UCSF Mepn Applicants?

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi everyone--

Has anyone else out there applied to the UCSF MEPN program? They're supposed to send out letters this month (December) for the interview process. Has anyone gotten a letter yet? Will those that aren't asked to the interview process get a rejection letter now?

Crossing my fingers...!

I'm not sure the fat envelope theory holds here. All we're waiting for is an interview invitation, which could easily be one single page in a very thin envelope.

Grrrr......

Any news yet? I applied to the FNP track too, and the PNP track as my second choice. From the posts last year, it looks like the applicants didn't get their letters until around December 16th, so we might have a few more days to wait! AHHHH! Good luck everyone!

Waaaaaah it's the 16th and still nothing...at least not here in Marin, just over the bay from UCSF.

Hope everyone is having a restful weekend and/or fun christmas shopping...

:)

Nothing here in the city either...I'm really trying to be patient, honestly! I have my Anatomy finals next week; ugh!

:heartbeat

I'm in SF - applied to the midwifery specialty at UC and Yale - any news from anyone about an interview letter? It's kind of quiet out there................

Still no word in Marin Co....I was so SURE that yesterday would be the day...:uhoh3:

I'm applying to the ANP (generalist) track...I will be kind of surprised if I get an interview because my health volunteer experience is way out of date, and I keep hearing what a big deal that is. Did/Do you guys do tons of "community service"? I volunteer at the Berkeley Free Clinic in college, but that was long ago...

After the office Xmas party I'm hauling ass home to check my mail!!

Hang in there, all..

:)

and good luck, Nat3433, with your anatomy final!! Almost there...

:)

The rumor is that a record of service is important - not sure if there's a statute of limitations on when you did it. Since this is a second career for me I've done some volunteer work to get experience as well. But it seems to me the whole MEPN premise is to bring people with diverse life experience into nursing.

We'll all see, I guess -- I hope it's SOON!

YES! - Got my envelope from UCSF today, and pleased to be a finalist. Have to interview at UC on the 19th of January, and at Stanford on the 25th.

Anyone else?

Nope, no Santa Claus delivery today. Nice to know the letters have gone out though. Congratulations!!!

:uhoh3:

wow sci-fry...CONGRATULATIONS! and for the midwifery track! i heard that midwifery and FNP (the one i applied for) are the most competitive. :o go celebrate! you deserve it!

i've been waiting like a nervous wreck to hear back. :uhoh3: but it's good to hear that word is starting to go out.

good luck to everyone else who hasn't heard yet!

I applied to the Acute Care NP program and also received my finalist letter today (I'm in Hayward). Looks like I have my first interview at UCSF on the 19th and the second at SF General Hospital on the 25th.

Good luck to everyone else!
