Any Tips for Alameda Hospital New Grad Interview?

Published

Hi, I am having my first hospital interview with Alameda Hospital in a week. I have been out of school for six months and still struggling to find a job in the bay area! Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Anyone interview with them before?

Thank you so much for your time and advice!

I interviewed on Thursday and received a call on Friday. Prayers up.

Yay! Congrats guys!

TrNg and bud1987, which department will you guys be working in? I too got a call on Friday :)

also, does anyone have more information about the pharmacology exam?

Thank you and good luck to those who also interviewed!

Hello KL10!!! I will be on the med/surg unit! How about yourself?

I am not exactly sure what to expect with the pharmacology exam. I sure hope it's not too specific because medications are not necessarily my strongest point..lol.

That is really awesome! I initially applied for med/surg, however they offered me a position on the Critical Care Unit. As far as the pharmacology exam, I am not sure how to feel about it. Haha. I am right there with you about it not being a strong point.

Were you able to complete the pre-employment paperwork?

I will be on med surg unit too. What shift are you on Bud1987?

Also, do you know much about the program and when it starts? I didn't ask much when they offered me the job but I will call back on Monday.

TrNg congratulations! I was told the projected start date would be in August sometime but I am not sure if it differs between departments.

Were you able to access the pre-employment paperwork online?

Hi KL10, BSN, RN

thanks! Congrats to you too. I haven't gotten that far with the paperwork online. I'll try to do it next week.

I received an email saying the paper work is time sensitive and needs to be completed within 48 hours but I am not able to access it. I was curious if you received the same information.

Congrats on Critical Care!! I would love to hear about your experience there once we start.

We'll just have to pray about that pharm!! Lol

yes, I was able to complete ALL of the pre-employment paperwork between Friday and Saturday.

I did not encounter this issue. I received about 4 different emails, all with different instructions and tasks. You should call first thing Monday to get assistance.

Also, I did not get the 48hr memo. Just that it's important to get it done asap.

Woohoo!

Congratulations!! I took the pharm test yesterday. It was not challenging. About 20 questions. Review med calc, insulin precautions, and medical abbreviations.

hope to meet you all soon too!
